2001 Donzi Classic 22 white with red stripe combination. The boat is sleeping right now for the winter but I'm collecting supplies to correct a few imperfections. The primary red stripe down the center of the boat is flanked by black pinstripes which I gather is standard on boats of my era. The stripes on the engine hatch show cracking (I'm assuming from the heat) whereas they are perfect everywhere else. I'm trying to locate the correct product so I can match the factory appearance and hopefully not have to replace all pinstripes.

I believe the pinstripes that flank my center stripe are 1/2". Is 3m Scotchcal 72702 (http://3mcollision.com/3m-scotchcal-...702-black.html) the appropriate product?

Thank you.

If you are talking about the black that runs down on each side of strip I got mine at Canadian tire it's awesome. In Kitchener Ontario where in Canada you from.

Their website doesn't show a listing for a size greater than 1/4". I'm in Burlington, boat out of Georgian Bay.

You will probably not find a better striping tape than 3M products. Be sure to peel the application clear layer off the tape if it has it or it will start to peel and crack.

Check out www.lettersunlimited.com (http://www.lettersunlimited.com). They offer many sizes and colors of 3M, premium vinyl striping at reasonable prices. They will also custom-size striping. I ordered a 5/16" x 100' roll and it only cost about $25 US. Seems to be holding up very well.

That 3m ScotchCal line is proving difficult to locate in Canada in 1/2" width - solid Black.

Good thing I started looking well ahead of the season. If I find a supply, I'll update with the source.

Managed to find a supplier with a few rolls remaining that were happy to ship to me. For anyone wondering - 3M Canada has discontinued this product.

The wider tape is getting hard to find, but I think looks better than the thinner stuff......

While on the subject of tape striping I will mention that if you always keep it in a refrigerator it will last for years.
