I sold my '68 18 2+3 in 1998 and the guy who bought it took it out maybe two times. It was always stored at my in-laws home in Illinois. I was approached a couple of years ago by the new owner to see if I had any interest in getting it back. I was happy to make it acquaintance again. Since it was stored several things had deteriorated. In May I brought the boat down to Naples and started my mechanical restoration. I replaced all the gauges and reconditioned the switches, new wire harness from gauges to engine. New fuel pump, water separating fuel filter and fuel lines, fuel fill and vent hose. All new water hoses and a flush kit. New DUI distributor, plug wires, Holley Carb and spark arrester. Rebuilt the alternator and replaced the T-stat and solenoid.

After 6 months she floats again!

Congrats on getting "your" boat back again! :biggrin.: It's great that you're getting it back into shape again, just in time for some great boating weather down here!!

The weather was perfect! Low 80's and not a cloud in the sky.
