Great album of pics. Thanks. The river looks kinda narrow. Is there a speed limit?

John, those pics are in a section of the river about 30miles north of LI Sound. The river is much wider farther south.
Yes, there is a 45mph speed limit but it was far exceeded during the run by many boats. The DEP let us go so long as we were respectful of no wake areas.

Definitely had a wide spectrum of boats out there. Good pics.

Do you need muffled cans?

John,
I run slip in mufflers from Memorial day to Labor day. Not sure if my Donzi would pass the noise ordinance without them; it's not that loud even without them. The authorities tend to turn the other way during this event as long as people don't get stupid...

When the run first started it was mostly smaller outboard boats meeting at Haddam Meadows launch, running up to Hartford and back, ending with a cook out.
The Larger boats have joined the mix over time and the Pizza Party started about 7-8 years ago.
The main crew still launch and end at Haddam Meadows with cookout...

I've been doing the run since 02 or 03... Crazy George as I called him (Geo 18-X) put on a couple of shows back in the day...

Dragged my Donzi home after the run on Sunday and winterized her last night. I'll pull the drive and cover her up in the coming weeks.

Still have our 17' AquaSport if there are some sunny 50deg days before X-mas...

This gives a pretty good description of what it is. It sounds a little like the BBQ by the Suwannee run in November with the BBQ Saturday night. Boats run there starting on Thursday through Sunday. They run about 40 miles north to a beach area and then about 30 miles south to the Gulf of Mexico. No egos that I've seen, just a bunch of people enjoying their boats on a very pretty river.
