Selling our 2004 deck-off restoration Sweet 16 O/B.. a 1972 hull restored by the previous owner. Well cared for by us with about 150 hours on it since acquiring it. Located in Ontario, Canada.

Motor Not Included. Does include full mooring cover.

Asking US$4500 or CAD$6000.

It was listed on the local buy/sell on September 1st as well and removed very shortly afterwards. It appears to have sold quickly. Good luck in your search. If I see another one pop up I'll let you know. I drive by a Donzi 16 OB stored at a marina on my way up to the cottage. It didnt come out of storage this year until very late. I almost stopped in to ask about it during the summer. Perhaps this was the one? I'll know next spring and post if it becomes available.

I'd be inclined to believe that one would get the most sensible and 'reasoned' answer on this from BUIZILLA .

Anyone who thinks that they can simply drop a modern 200+HP engine on the back end of a 16' boat built for a 135HP outboard is , I believe , mistaken .

IMHO, a 150-175 is just about right provided it doesn't weigh over 450# with a prop.... any 4 stroke over a 90 or 115 is just too heavy

plenty were out there with 200's and never really tamed the chine walk at WFO

irregardless, no matter what year hull you choose your going to have to split the deck, beef up the transom and stringers, and you should have at least a new 40 gal tank installed, I put a 65 gal in mine, all new ethanol rated fuel lines and external fuel filter... don't be surprised if you need trim tabs for the mid range hop, they ALL do it from 32-39 mph, I used Lenco's and loved them, fast acting and positive reaction time, the Bennet's are just too slow reacting for an OB hull.

there's just no sense in putting big power on one because in a 2 ft chop your not running anywhere close to WFO.

I will say this, it is a real fun boat when done RIGHT...

Nahh, the more power the better as you don't have to always use it. There are several 16 OB Baby's out there for sale and there are plenty of guys running heavier motors on the back, here is just one. Bone stock hull.
