I just spoke with Gary Baldwin at Lakeview Marina and they currently have a 22 and an 18 in stock and have recently sold a couple of 22s. http://www.lakeviewmarina.net/new_vehicle_inventory.asp?category=0&ModelYearFrom=1900&ModelYearThru=2017&PriceFrom=0&PriceThru=999999999&mfg=266&ModelSearch=&lengthMin=&lengthMax=&feetmeters=feet&submit=GO The 16 sounds a little iffy. The 18s and 22s are very much alive. They are showing a new 22 at AOTH. :)

Good news. Even better news that there's a dealer willing to stock a couple.

Looks like they are trying every graphic look from the last 50 years.

Scott's graphic hatch, offset stripe on the Donzi 009, X-18 side stripes . . .

The twin axle trailer for the 18 is nice. The tabs look bigger on both boats. One odd thing is that they felt full hydraulic steering is not needed on the 22. I had a good talk with Gary and mentioned that some don't like the newer style windshield. I like most of what they've done. I think the traditional 4 clamshells would be more effective than the hood scoop. With the scoop being right behind the curved lip behind the back seat I'd bet that the opening is actually in a low pressure area and trying to pull air out of the engine room. I'm nitpicking though as I think both boats are beautiful!

Maybe the catalytic converters act as mufflers. I don't like that windshield and I told Gary so. I also told him that people aren't going to be happy that hydraulic steering was dropped.

Jim, the exhaust is different as this is a catalyzed engine. Only about 2 choices for tails.
When I get home, I'll post some pictures.

as far as the black 18.... kill the deck stripe and grab rail and you have thee sexiest 18 built in the last 10-12 years... :worthy:   put a 2" shorty on there and you've got a pocket rocket of fun

as for the 22, it looks great just like it is :pimp: the ultimate retro look, with current power, that does the Classic name proud... that boat doesn't need dual ram steering with that power either ( i'd probably want the DONZI logo size dropped 2 font sizes and shifted rearward where it belongs, and swap the Jensen for a Fusion XM-CD radio)

Hydraulic steering is no longer needed over 70 mph. Interesting.

Carl, Joey said they'd be delighted to include Zeiger twin cylinder hydraulic steering.
Also, any tab combination you care to choose. Just remember the price goes up.
This is a dealer boat the way they ordered it.

“And the Donzi 22 Classic—you wouldn’t believe how hot those boats are right now,” he continued. “We probably have 20 or more on order. Talk about a great starter boat for someone looking to move up the Donzi line. We justed one with 540 horsepower under the hatch that is going to Outpost Marine Group (http://outpostboats.com/)—it is real fun to drive. It’s a great-running boat.” Available at Outpost Marine Group in Holiday, Fla., the vibrant blue Donzi 22 Classic powered by a Mercury Racing 540 engine reportedly runs 86 mph. According to Big Thunder Marine’s Ed Champion, the dealer has several more boats scheduled to be delivered throughout the summer.

Editor’s note: Speedonthewater.com will continue to provide updates as boats leave the Washington, N.C., facility.

This marina has a new 22 on boat trader for $69k. That's a lot less than sticker.
