They are $99 to $110 on Amazon. Could a print shop reproduce the dust cover?

In fact I'm glad I looked. I just ordered one described as like new, with slip cover for $110.

They are a few for $99 on Amazon. I figured no dust cover and library markings wouldn't fetch that price. I just wanted to read it :) GLWS

Good for you Carl!

I didn't mean that as a jab against your copy. I buy on Amazon a lot and I looked to see what they were selling for and there was one copy described "like new" for $110 so I snagged it. I also sell on Amazon and if you describe an item as like new then it has to be absolutely perfect and truly as new. I know a printer who may be able to copy the dust cover. A brand new cover would make yours look pretty nice!

Is Amazon like Ebay now?

I like Amazon better. Amazon has a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

No slight taken!............curious, if in fact a dust cover can be duplicated & what that would cost.

Got shipping confirmation on my book. When I get it I'll take the cover to my printer and see what he says. He's only open week-ends.

After posting the link here and on OSO all of the bargain copies are gone on Amazon! The cheapest ones now are $150 and questionable condition. I got lucky as the copy I bought for $110 was indeed brand new. It appears to have been wrapped and stored since it was published. I am reading it very carefully!

My copy of "The King of ThunderBoat Row" is up for sale! ....along with the book and included in the price is a coffee mug
"Godfather of Speed Don Aronow"..........very rare cup purchased in Miami in '73 (in box brand new never used) ..the book
is missing the dust cover and is an NYPL edition.....There is a mark on the top LH front cover (smudge) and a stamping on
the inlay page with "NYPL" other than that the pages and the bindings are in excellent condition. No tears, crises, or stains.
I have a price in mind but holding that number just to see what "you folks here" would offer once you view the pictures.
The shipping would be on you the buyer..........My area code is 08527 Jackson, NJ .......curious, but not offended to offers!

Wow. Think I paid 40 bucks for mine a bunch of years ago and it's been sitting on my coffee table ever since. Maybe I need to get a glass box for it or something. Don't think I ever owned a $100 book before. Makes me feel smarter just because of it. :biggrin.:
