Want to put a gps speedo in my 18. I'm confused find em from $150 to $400 and looks like $400 you need to buy an antennae. Makes no sense. Please comment .

There are displays, also antennas. Combined, they're pretty expensive.
There are free GPS apps for your phone.
A good quality liquid filled Bourdon Tube type speedo will be w/in 1-2 MPH of
the GPS speed at a significant savings.
The choice is yours.

Gaffrig Performance still manufactures their own liquid filled speedometers.
http://gaffrigperformance.com/137-liquid-filled-speedos . Gaffrig supplies these
gauges in various diameters, maximum speeds, and finishes.
I guess more and more of the low cost gauge builders are supplying lower cost
GPS speedos. After searching a few, I noticed many are less than 60 MPH.
Don't forget about the free phone app!

I would just install an app on your iphone. They are as accurate as my dashmount Livorsi and very inexpensive these days.

Two speeds on water 1) Canal speed 2) WOT

Cheap out like me and use your cell phone and download a FREE app. You might find your SPEEDO is with in a 1mph or 2mph of GPS. Not worth spending the money for me. JMO

I agree that a GPS Speedo is a waist of money these days. A GPS app on a cell is wait I've used. My stock VDO speedo reads 2-3mph fast at WOT but is only about 1mph fast at cruise speed (3200rpm).
