Years ago, when I was on a road trip, I lost a tire on the freeway and ended up destroying my rim. I bought a rim/tire to get me back on the road, but now I had one rim that was different. I planned on getting a matching rim when I got back home, but as with most things I do.....it takes a looong time.

Fast forward 9yrs and rims are still mis-matched......and they all look like crap.

I was practically given a set of rims off an old Mazda B2300 that are in great shape and they're 14", so my tires will swap right over.

I painted the section between the spokes black, to make the spokes look longer. I'm going to keep that, except I'm going to change if from gloss black to flat black so the paint is less noticeable.

Anyways.........I painted the indentation in the spokes (yellow) to match the boat, but I'm 50/50 on whether it looks better or looks cheap.

So what's your opinion? Paint or no paint? Don't hold back. You won't hurt my feelings.

The paint's not bad, but no paint is better.

I kinda like the paint. There is just enough and not too much. Assuming you are freshwater it should last, right?

The yellow paint looks okay in a "flower power" kind of way..........
I hear they will be offering those painted wheels for men's trailers soon.

Either looks work. Did you see if the bolt pattern works on the trailer?

Ok, so I have 3 "for", 2 "50/50", 1 "against".........and Woobs.

Woobs has his own category because it was sooo definite. I've had to start therapy to overcome it.

....and then there's Ed. Typical Canadian. Thinks that just being nice is enough to get you free stuff. :biggrin.:

BYes bolt pattern is the same. Center bore was slightly too small, but there is a ridge inside the bore that I was able to use a hole saw on and shave off an 1/8".

Are you going to loose the center cap?

KenYes. I have Bearing Buddies and they stick out about 1".

Change the black painted area with the yellow painted area. That way you get the splash of color you want but just not in a flower pattern.

Thanks for everyone's opinion.

I ditched the yellow and just painted the outer part between the spokes black.

Wheels aren't the best looking ones, but they are way better than what I had, and reasonably cheap.
