Need help on Excalibur 24/7

Bought a 24 Excalibur to go with the 22C Got a couple of issues, #1 there is not a kick ass Forum like this for Excalibur tried OSO got nothing, #2 need to pop the deck off its a shoe box fit but glassed together, not a big problem but in the cockpit area there is no access to the inside any ideas?

The 24' Excaliburs I used to have were not glassed at the deck to hull joint from memory. If yours is glassed, there should not be glass behind where there is no access behind the cockpit area or it could not have been done - right?

Bill this boat came from down your way, I had a couple of back surgerys been MIA for a couple of years use to follow your post a lot, this one really peaks my interest its a 77 true Excalibur but deck has no hatches pulled the head liner never has had any, I'll get some pics tomorrow.

I remember looking at an Excaliber 24 of the same vintage waay back one day . I recall wondering , as I looked around the c0ckpit , how they put the thing together and how someone who might want to work on certain things or do a resto later would get access to many places.

The hull/deck joint wasn't on my mind then but in retrospect I can see that it would be an issue .

That looks like it will be a fairly difficult separation. Are you trying to replace something below the cockpit floor? Do you plan on using an air chisel or a small rotary saw to cut the joints? By the way, what color is the boat you bought since I know of a few that were here in Texas?

Thinking a cut off wheel, Broke stringer on the port side under the floor and floor is soft, when I bought it thought it would be a simple pop the deck and fix the stringer and do a clean up on the rigging,8318283183

The red looks like a recent repaint? Has there been a color change over the years? My 1977 had a separate instrument cluster on the right instead of the gauges spread along the deck over the cabin door.

Here is the 1977 that I actually custom ordered and picked up in Sarasota. I don't believe I have any pictures of the interior unless my friend who bought it in later years took some before he sold it.

With the standard 330HP TRS setup or the 370HP TRS, they would hit around 65mph but could get a little squirrely on the top end when trimmed out. To keep them more stable a little trim tab applied some stability.

Nice Bill, do you know where it is now? I want to put the cable back on the bow think that hardware is available? I ran down to Austin and picked this up from Doug.

Nope, my friend sold mine but I don't know where it went. My 1977 also had the Morse docking lights which I ordered when custom ordering the boat. You can get the hardware to make the bow lifeline - no big deal at all. My 1977 had a teak piece on the deck under the lifeline which the factory installed. Do you have an engine/drive package in mind?

Bill I discovered some good news yesterday, my hull is broke away from my stringer on the port side, thats why I had so much give in the hull and i'm putting stringers in anyway so its all good.

No cut the floor and back seat out, I have searched a lot of threads here for stringer replacement looking for info of how to block my hull up so i can lay the stringers back in, I have it off the trailer i remember reading one a few years back, any ideas where to look?

I always replaced stringers while the boat was supported on the flat bunks of the trailer. Maybe you can build a cradle to make sure the hull is straight before proceeding?
