How was your experience with the new Donzi owners/facility? It's been awhile since I've been on here so I apologize if there is already thread on your experience.

All the people there were very accommodating, well beyond being polite. I scheduled a visit in December, not knowing they were officially closed on
Friday . However, my contact, Carol Price, was waiting for me even though she had a painful personal issue that morning. Delivery was on time and went smoothly, the only issue was the borrowed trailer was too small, that of course was all on me. If you check Donzi's facebook page you'll see what I mean, that was a white knuckle ride back to Knoxville! We got a tour of the facility, and frankly I was surprised at how much they do in house. I hope my comments are helpful. Still trying to sell my perfect 18 Classic though.

Can someone educate me on who owns Donzi LLC, who owns the company that owns Donzi, and what state has the holding company has now set up shop in for the building of a 2015 Classic 16, 18 or 22? I know there were many permutations over the years during bankruptcy.

That is great to hear. There has been a lot of talk of concern with the future of Donzi, glad to see that they are still going. Are you happy with the boat itself?...fit and finish good?

From what I understand, Donzi Marine is under American Marine Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Baja Marine. Classics are being built in Washington, NC.

Overall fit and finish is good and it runs well. Unfortunately I haven't been able to log enough break-in hours on it yet.

At the time of the 50th promotion, around 80k, nicely equipped. I don't know the pricing these days.

thank you for your reply. Your statement above raises concern for me, as a past Donzi owner and someone who has spent my life around boats, Donzi's were always of outstanding quality . . you wrote: "Overall fit and finish is good"..... this doesn't to me express a lot of enthusiasm for an expenditure of close to $100K?

Mario,

I try not to go overboard with my descriptions of things... The boat is exactly what I expected, shiny, quick, well built, everything works and more importantly I have complete confidence in the people that built it. Of course you don't know me, I am not a bashful man. Trust me, if and when I have an issue, you all will hear about it.

What is the GT pushing for ponies and torque?

What is the GT pushing for ponies and torque?

The mid-mounted 5.4 L Modular V8 engine is all-aluminum with a Lysholm twin screw-type supercharger. It features a forged rotating assembly housed in an aluminum block designed specifically for the GT program. A dry sump oiling system is employed, allowing the engine to sit low in the car's frame. The DOHC 4-valve heads are a revision of the 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R cylinder heads (with slightly increased wall casting thickness in the exhaust port). The camshafts have unique specifications, with more lift and duration than those found in the Shelby GT500. Power output is 550 hp (410 kW; 558 PS) at 6500 rpm and generates 500 lb·ft (678 N·m) of torque at 3750 rpm.[14] A Ricardo six-speed manual transmission is fitted featuring a helical limited-slip differential. Car and Driver tested the GT in January 2004 and recorded a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds, with a 5-60 time of 3.7 seconds.the 2017 will be a V6 and 650hp

Yeah, what Ed said. All I know is it's fast as hell and puts a big :) on my face. The faster you go the better it feels. Braking is enormous, makes your eyeballs want to come out of the sockets:yes: With 16 injectors it does use some fuel if you drive it at 9/10's

Thank you! This is helpful and encouraging. Hopefully Donzi continues to produce top quality boats!
