I have a 22 Classic with a 260 and Alpha1. I am not looking to tear up the drive, but does any one have a prop recommendation. I am currently running a Vengence 21P and it sometimes feels like it is cavitating...

Looks like too much torque...flipped the boat over.

Please give us a little more about the performance of your boat.

What's the drive ratio? 1.5 or ?
I'm thinking you would like the WOT RPM to be about 4600.

I tested a number of props and liked the Turbo 1 3 blade and Merc Rev 4 4 blade the best.
The 3 blade will be 1-2mph faster on top, but the 4 blade will be faster mid range and the boat will likely handle easier...

the drive is a 1.5. Motor is all stock 4 inch exhaust. The motor will go to 5200 wot. Looking for some better midrange

I would say try a 23p mirage 3 blade I ran that on my 18 it was great and I still have it in great shape.:)

does the Vengeance have vent holes? if so, you should plug those first and try it again

I'd try a 23p Turbo 1 or Mirage.

A 270HP/350 pushed my 87 20' Minx spinning a 23p mirage to about 63mph on gps at 4600rpm.

Newsday33 where you from I hope your close I would give my prop for testing.I now how expensive it can get, I'm sure we all now.:bonk:

5200RPM with 21P in a 260 Merc powered 22 is definitely slipping. I wouldn't throw a 23 on just yet. I got a mirage 21P you could try out to base line it. I am just a little more north of you if your interested :biggrin.: My Minx topped out @4800 with the21p and the 350 Mag average speed was 58mph in Summer 60mph in spring and fall.

Agree a 21P Mirage, Mirage plus, or Turbo 1 is a good place to start.

My 1987 Minx with 270HP / 350 Mag would spin 4400-4600rpm with a 23 Mirage.

Mike I never have hit Winni. I'm in Rindge, NH. Border town of Taxachusetts:biggrin.:. What town are you in? I'm on Lake Contoocook, It's little but there's a public launch and enough space to get a baseline:yes:
