What year the Volvo 270T was introduced?

My friends 1968 Greavette has a Volvo 270T and VP motor. My friend believes this engine/drive to be original....Afaik Greavette only used Mercruiser. However, Greavette would do most anything the customer wanted. So, it's possible the Volvo is original. There are other clues that lead me to think this is a swap including the steering wheel and throttle shifter (which look like they came from a donor boat).

Unfortunately the boat in question recently sank in a Florida river. So, now it will now be undergoing a full restoration. Naturally, we would like to know if the Volvo is original to the boat.

T
In 1968 the Volvo offering was the 250 the 270 came along late 71 early 72 the T would be post 72 so if the boat is a 68 the 270 t would be an upgrade
The 270 and 280 T are unique animals and have their own parts and fittings they are not interchangeable like the non T setups

I know of two 1972 classic power boats totally original one had a 250 one had a 270

Thanks Matty, I didn't think the 270T was available in 1968.

Cheers,
S.
