Currently have an 18; wondering if a 22 would fit in my garage.

I have the drawings for a 22 factory trailer somewhere but I'm sure someone can measure there 22 from skeg to trailer tip for you. Remember, each trailer tends to have a different tongue length. If it gets close you can always have a fold away tongue hinge installed and claw back a couple of feet.

Well, I'm not Bob, but mine is 26'-7" from the end of the bunks to the coupler CL. If you look at the pictures, it could easily be a foot shorter by shortening the tongue by that amount. I recently extended the tongue by 15"
The transom is forward of the bunk ends by 3". I don't have the drive lower on the drive, but the end of the upper is 30" from the transom.

Think twice about shortening the trailer tongue. If you're at a shallow ramp or have a low tide you're 22 Classic won't float off and your boating day is screwed. Some folks actually go with a longer tongue and add the swing away. That way, the boat either fits in your garage or not and the trailer doesn't matter. If that doesn't make it fit, keep your 18 and add a blower.

MY 05 22 classic sits on a painted steel MYCO trailer, you need 30ft (with drive down) for it to fit in your garage. My garage is 30ft deep and it juuuuust fits:yes:

Thanks all. Good info.

30' is about right. Any shorter garage depth might require trailer mods.

Mine is 29', prop to coupler.

If you can't expand the garage like Carl, you can always go the redneck route. :tooth:

Thanks Undertaker.
In my past life I use to do upholstery, so I made it myself. I wanted a cover that would fully protect the boat when travelling and wouldn't flap around and scuff the gel. You'd have to custom order one through an upholstery shop to duplicate it. I've been out of the biz for a long time, but I'd expect it would be about $2500.

Yeller, thanks for the pics. That cover is well done and exactly what I would like to have made for my boat. Do you have a soft material sewn inside the cover to help with the possiblity of chaffing on deck and sides? With the full cover I tow with now, I place bed sheets on my deck & hatch area to help with the chaffing do not have to worry about the side cause current cover does not come down all the way to water line. Just curious....

Again well done, and thanks:biggrin.:

No extra material. I did the blanket thing in the past as well with my old boat and cover. This cover is Sunbrella material and it fits the boat tight, tight, so I don't need additional protection. It doesn't scuff the gel.

I think we're done Dick. We'll give you your thread back. :lookaroun:
