Has anyone an idea of the make and model of this boat ?
Only one picture...

No idea, looks vaguely European though. Or if you squint really maybe a Trojan 10 or 11 meter express hull that was customized into a runabout.

More importantly, what's the make & model of the topless chick at the dock? Need some better angles to figure it out. She's certainly not as broad in the beam as the boat.

There is a good chance it is a european boat. The picture is taken from the hôtel il pellicano in italy.

the picture is used as the cover of a book upon this particular hôtel.

But the mediterranean sea as always been a place where american boats were seen. A certain number of Magnum marine for example ( and Donzis !). So it is not unpossible that this is an non-european vessel.

chicks are european...

That would be a 1973 35' Magnum, it's on page 34 of the just released 50th anniversary Magnum book. Per the book at the helm is Filippo Theodoli & on on the deck is Katrin who now runs Magnum, 35+ years later she looks just as good. Back in April Mr Bill [redaleart] Jeff Hall & I had the pleasure meeting her @ Magnum, what a classy lady. Mark

Also as a side note, Katrin Theodoli is standing closest to the bow showing off their new yacht @ Pellicano Hotel Porto Ercole Italy august 1973.

What's the beam size?............the lenght doesn't look proportional to the width :boggled:

Meeting Katrin in person must have been a very special moment. When did she take over the "helm" of Magnum Marine again?

Wasn't it when her husband died? Maybe 12-15 years ago.

Yes it was 1990 when Filippo died of cancer, the 70' Magnum was his last creation. Katrin has run Magnum since then.

Somewhere I read about their first encounter and love story which sounded fairytale .
I met them at a boat show here in Texas in about 1976 or 1977 and I still remember asking Filippo why they bothered setting up a booth here when he had already told me their main market was in Europe. They both said they liked meeting boating people and it was a good way to get the Magnum name out there to the west of Florida. I was really impressed with both of them. Super nice people! I find it heart warming that Katrin has successfully carried on with the Magnum line.

A bit of added detail on Magnum Marine ..........

Bob--The 'Six Pac' was owned by Juan Fernandez, (Bahamas), and was an entirely different boat. It was a 35' Magnum, with a twelve foot beam (BIG). I recall only these two boats ever running with six I-6 and they were both rigged at the Lake---

Note: By 1971 parts for the BP Lower unit were scarce. The BP adapter allowed the fishing motor lower units to be used. This boat even ran with six of the MC-1 units; The outside motors did not steer; The 707 has the 'R' on the side; Two 55 gallon drums on the bow of 'Six Pac'

What a picture ! It smells racing out there (oh yes it should with so many 2-strokes) !
it is visible on the black and white picture than the outside motors don't steer.
How many hp had each Merc tower at this period ?

Ouch. That actually crossed my mind when I looked at the picture again.

Until proven otherwise, it's a 22yo Italian chick with a twin sister and a loud boat fetish.

A bit of added detail on Magnum Marine ..........

6 hanging Merc towers and the stern looks as if there's no weight back there at all.......the wide displacement really floats that boat!

Slightly off-topic, but for guys that like big butts, the Trojan 10 & 11 meter that I mentioned earlier have a ton of beam (13'). There's one in a slip at Wilson Lake near here, very distinctive lines.

Are you born and raised in TN?

Heck no, I'm from Wisconsin. If I were from TN, I'd have said MY sister, not a 22yo with a twin sister! :biggrin.:

----Most of those 35 Magnums were set up for serious fishing and had huge fuel tanks as well as tuna towers, double controls, water tanks, generators, AC, etc. Even when fully loaded they sat a bit high with only gas powered drivetrains. Needed diesels to settle them down to the correct "in the water" height......Bill S

Although it may look like Filip at the helm, afaik, none of the original bigger magnums (35 38 40 45 53) had pointy bows, or walk around w/ a raised center deck. All had rounded bows and a full convex deck.

The sender told me it was this or a Fino and her Father chose this.
Better choice then for practical reasons, but now.... I'll take the Fino.

The boat in the middle pic is a 38(or 35), but the 1st and 3rd pic are 27 sports.

I know. He bought both. She still has the Sport and it looks like new. Boathouse kept and on fresh water. Never saw salt. Luck for that too.

Here is a Magnum that wouldn't even fit in the largest marina at our local lake :nilly:

You always need a go fast Bill. That awesome Magnum is probably owned by the same guy who owns this 250 footer..............
