where is the crank sensor located on my 6.2L MPI ???

Mounts into the plastic timing chain cover on the front of the motor. It is held in place by a 5/16 bolt. There is a wire harnesss that clips into it.

thanks, it looks like i will have to move the fuel filter to get at it

shouldn't have to, usually you can reach up under the front. Tough spot but you can get to it

soo my engine was an early production engine and of course it does not have a crank sensor like you guys thought, just the sensor in the distributor,,, i called mercruiser and was told this info, also was told about a TSB for stalling issues. i replaced the sensor and found the wires under the unit were burnt. soo i think i found my stalling issue. Thanks for the help people
