I think it is time to try something different, as in a different style of boat. So, with some regret, here is my baby.

1997 Donzi 22 Classic, 502 Mag MPI, Bravo I
2008 Custom All-American trailer

Boat
Garage-kept, royal blue, 22 Classic. I purchased this boat in late 2007 and have been slowly rebuilding/refurbishing her ever since. Includes tonneau cover and full cover. Boat has a total run time of 455 hours since new and 130 hours since the engine rebuild. Here is a list of some of the work performed….

Hull: Replaced lights, added mid-ship cleats, re-chromed all the shiny bits, replaced the cowl vents, cleaned and painted engine bay. Rewired and replaced all the gauges and fuel sender. Replaced the stereo head unit and cover plate, and speakers. Replaced steering wheel. Etc, Etc…..

Engine: Internally, I rebuilt the engine from the pan up to factory spec. Externally, all rusty or worn out parts have been replaced. That list would include, starter, water pump, fuel cooler and pump, exhaust system, coupler, several sensors, motor mounts,…etc, etc…..

Transom Assembly: A couple of years ago, I replaced the transom assembly with a completely new one. Also, replaced the steering cylinder in the process.

Drive: I removed the drive, had the skeg straightened, stripped and painted the drive, replaced all seals, and installed new decals. I also added a Simrek Halo drive shower.

Electronics: Sony Stereo, Garmin 172C Chartplotter, Azimuth 1000 Electronic Compass, VHF radio

Trailer
Custom-made, single 5200# torsion axle. 225/75/16 BF Goodrich Commercial T/A All-Season tires on Aluminum rims. Matching spare tire and rim on holder. Kodiak brakes with Demco actuator. LED lighting. BoatBuckle retractable stainless transom hold downs. Air-Tight Hubs with new Timken bearings.

My intention with this boat was not to build a rocket ship, it was to rebuild and maintain a boat that would safely and reliably run time-after-time. If you would like to beef her up, this is good starting platform.
I have all the documentation and receipts of all the work performed as well as a ton of photos.

$28,499.00

Boat is located in Orlando, FL. Email questions to tidbitnh@yahoo.com or call 321-436-5704. Tire kickers, please don’t waste my time. Thanks, Bob

Beautiful boat. I can tell with not even knowing you, how well maintained the boat is. Just look at the background in the photos. The detail put into the garage is amazing. Blue stripe to match the boat. Awesome floor. Good luck in the sale!

Thanks. The hard part will be finding the next boat with a blue stripe to match the garage. Lol

That really is a nice garage. I noticed how strong the garage door stiffeners are which I presume will hold up to some very strong winds. Also, the cuts in the concrete should limit the cracks to occuring in them - good idea. What finish did you use on the floor? Really nice Donzi you are selling!

That is the best trailer I have seen. I want one just like that...

Beautiful, well sorted package...

The stiffeners are there to meet the local wind code, 110 mph, if my memory serves me. I think the floor only cracked in one small area. I did spend quite some time an effort to cure it properly keeping it wet for a couple of weeks. The finish is a commercial epoxy/paint chip system from Marbelite. http://www.marbelite.com/terralite.htm It came out real well. Here is a close up of the finish product.

I couldn't stomach the whole process so I sold mine to Pier 57. Having someone pick my boat apart just to drop it 500 dollars was more than I could take.

Great combo boat/trailer.

I here you, about the whole process. It can be a pain in the azz.

I look at it this way. Pick all you want, it is what it is, and I don't have to sell it. I have no problem telling someone to screw and that I won't sell if to him because he is a dick.:biggrin.:

Over the years, I have gotten pretty good at weeding out the tire kickers. I will show it and start it at the house, in the driveway. We can then negotiate a sale. Then, and only then will I bring it to the water for a test drive. If something isn't as I advertised it to be, we can re-negotiate. If they don't like, tough doodoo. :kingme:

Surprisingly, I have only had one broker, and one anonymous "offshore" texter, contact me even though I said no brokers and texts in my ad. Selling is fun.:boggled:

Good luck with your new boat. We are all wondering what it is.

Bob I'm looking more closely at your trailer pics. What trailer is that? As was said, looks very, very nice.

Bob-

From my own experience, I believe the For Sale page on this forum is heavily fished, scammed, spammed etc...
My own ad was viewed over 18000 times and did not generate anywhere near that number of leads.

If you changed your email to include AT instead of @, or spelled out numbers Five, instead of 5, you might reduce the nuisance factor.

Again, from my own experience, I had good results (and found the ultimate buyer) from www.Boattrader.com (http://www.Boattrader.com) . But who knows.

Your boat looks to be in excellent condition, well loved and well priced. I'm amazed it is still here.

Greg,

I had it made by All-American Trailer in Ft. Lauderdale. Jim Haas knows the owner well and put us together.

It was custom built the way I wanted it, with a lot of input from others more knowledgeable. Foremost, it was made for the 22 and to fit in my new garage. The boat/trailer combo had to be less than 32' from the end of the coupler to the back of the drive. Single axle makes it easy to maneuver and saves a bunch on the tolls around here.

It has been reliable. The only issues I had were with the torsion axle, was replaced twice, and a tire. Neither was the fault of the builder.

The word that comes to my mind when I see this trailer is "Battleship"!

BTW, you should have seen his old trailer......I had to rescue him once on the side of the road when it was literally falling apart. The disparity between the old and the new is beyond comparison.
The old trailer just happened to come w/the boat....nothing to do w/Bob.

Thanks Bob, very very nice. That must have been an expensive trailer to have built. Looks great as does the boat.

Thanks Bob, very very nice. That must have been an expensive trailer to have built. Looks great as does the boat. the price was VERY fair, when you drop an axle, 2 alum wheels, and 2 tires and a brake assy from the invoice.. then you put some money back into an inch thicker main beam, HD actuator yada yada I have towed it about 1300 miles myself and it is awesome

For a limited time, my boat will be available without the trailer as an option. To clarify, until further notice, you can buy the boat, or the boat and trailer combo.
