Taking friends out this weekend (adults & kids) for tubing and need a portable ladder that will work on a 16 without damaging anything! I don't feel comfortable telling them to climb up the outdrive, so what are my options? Thanks!

Get one of those universal over-gunwale ladders and throw a towel under it and it should work. You can buy them anywhere that has a sporting goods section. I have used one on my 22 but had to make some small mods to it. Go easy on it. It should be fine for kids.

What I found was that a folding ladder with hooks wide enough to grab the gunwales on a 16 was too long and the support braces didn't hit the side of the boat . I used a sailboat rope step tied to the grab rail at the right height worked but once or twice then the wife and kids climbed the drive.

Thanks for all the recommendations (including PM's) - I ordered a hook ladder AND a rope ladder, so I'll see what works best (or doesn't!)
