looks like the OPA and the APBA are returning to north Jersey this spring.

My wife and I did the OPA event last year on Mother's day had a great day . this one is best viewed from the shore at the Yacht club

The APBA returns to my lake in June after being absent for a few years this one has a lot of local interest trying to figure if it is better viewed from shore at brown's point park or out on the water I'll do some research .

I'll be going to both with some friends if you are interested or you going to be there maybe a small gathering might be in order

Took the ride over today but the lake conditions forced them to cancel the races the teams were packing up and heading out. disappointing for everyone

did take a few pics, did get a chance to chat with Team Saris before they headed home. Then had a nice lunch and a bloody mary with friends.

Bummer. Was the lake level too high? I read something about storm drains.

Glad you got to talk to Johnny and Jason.

yes there was enough disappointment to go around for everyone organizers , sponsors, racers and fans. the lake had risen 15 feet since this time last week according to the interviews I had seen. the lake after ice out was down about 5 feet from it's normal full level and now sits 10 feet above flood level and rising. I guess they thought it would peak on Sat and they could run Sun. BUT as of Sun the lake had not peaked and was still rising. When we walked down to the club we walked over a few storm drains and you could hear they were still roaring. We took a ride around the lake by car looking for lunch( read this Bloody Mary's but it was before noon on Sunday) and to explore we saw a few lakefront homes with the lake over the bulkheads and feet from the houses with normal wind driven chop if they added boat traffic to that they would loose property for sure. The NJ State police on the lake invoked the entire lake as a no wake zone on Sunday morning we got there just after Dean Wormer dropped the big one.

Your boat has made a big impression on the boys at performance I chatted with John and Jason for a bit about your boat and the boat inspections but they were eager to get home and To the Algonquin. I do have to talk to them about the route they take home , they were headed west on rt 80 when we saw them last seems like they would be better off rt 80 east to 287 north shouldn't be more than a 4 hr ride for them

well now we look to June and the APBA on my lake
