If so, can it be mounted either port or starboard...

What are they worth...

Does anyone have one kickin`around they are not attached to...

Thanks,

They are common on Ebay, they are good unit with decent adjustments. Price is all over the place but in the reasonable ranges.

that is one of the styles they used but be warned the older ones did not have a neutral safety switch and can be very dangerous if your not careful.

that is the style that I have in the hornet but it is mounted vertically not horizontally so the neutral lock out is on the bottom.

they go either way or either side but make sure you have everything connected and working while the deck is off they can be a bitch to work on once you have the deck on.

the other style was the one with the bigger cut out and the recessed housing like what is on jay's 16

When you say neutral safety switch...

Are you referring to the lockout button ?
Or an electrical switch that prevents starting the engine in gear?

It prevents starting the engine while in gear.

the second one

I have seen the safety wired 2 ways
depending on the make and style of shifter

1 anytime the shifter is in neutral there is continuity thru the switch

2. there is continuity thru the switch only when the neutral lockout is engaged

The second way you have to place in neutral then lockout the shifter before starting then unlock the shifter to go

needless to say both of the early classics I have had will start in gear

I have about 25 early Morse shifters to choose from. Some of the shifters can be mounted port, starboard or both. I have them all and they are for sale.

Thanks Scott,

Sent you a PM.
I'm looking for starboard helm.... safety lockout would be good if you have it.
