Oil drain cap.

Hooks to the end of the oil drain tube and also to the drain plug. Lays y in the bilge ( if you choose to leave it down there ) otherwise it hooks to a shower curtain hook high on the side of your engine. I have one on the Baby. Like it. Makes it easy to change the oil.

Mine has a petcock on the end but no fancypants hooks ..Ed

Y'all are on the right track. With the exhaust on the engine, it's very difficult to reach under the pan to access the drain hose. The hose is pretty stiff and even if there were a small line attached to the end of the hose, it might still be difficult to get the hose to start into the drain tube. So the idea is attach a small line to the hook and #10 size stud. It should be easy to get the hook into the drain tube and due to the small diameter, it should also be self aligning to a degree. If the hook and stud comes through the drain tube, the hose will follow. The hook and stud are actually toilet parts. I drilled and tapped the drain cap (1/4" pipe) and installed the stud and lock nut w/red Loc-Tite. It shouldn't come apart. I'll let you know well it works.
