The LGDCC has always run it's events in full cooperation and permission of the LGPC, next season the lake will be one of the first lakes in the eastern US to mandate boat inspections and washing to help curb "AIS" Aquatic invasive species. The regulations are being finalized now and will be ready for spring of 2014. The basic idea will be that no trailered boat will be allowed to be launched onto the lake without being inspected and if necessary washed and decontaminated . We will keep our members updated on the actual procedures . Again we are in full support of this and will continue to promote responsible power boating on the lake.

I saw a programme on TV a few weeks back about the legendary Lake George monster . I didn't realize that you also had your own version of Nessie !

we learned about it a year or two ago in our trivia contest

it was a true false question

sometimes the timber rattlers in the area get mistaken for the monster or a deer making it ways to an island

I most certainly would not want to accidentally swim into one of those things !

Funny how many places , and there must be dozens , have their own folklore surrounding a monster or entity of some sort in the lake.
If I recall , the show I saw sort of hinted at the LG monster story sort of morphing into a spirit sort of haunting legend now .
I may be mistaken though .

I did pay special attention to the scenery though knowing how many of you guys call it home turf. I imagine the 'serenity a tree encircled lake ' is broken often :D
