ventilated prop?

found this one in the garage i picked this up when I grabbed like 3 or 4 other volvo props. faded writing looks to be a merc prop didn't fit on the volvo could be an edrive prop

never seen one with holes drilled in the blades

wonder what they are for??

Matty I have been doing this stuff for many years and have never seen one drilled like that, they will not serve the same purpose as hub drilled props. I have a hunch the holes may cause burn same a deep blade nicks or hull imperfections do.
