I know this has been posted in the past, however I have been unable to locate it through search. I am looking for the information on decoding the year on the Holman Moody tag.

Mattboy That helps a lot thanks for the info. That's not the engine That was in it when i got it, however most of the H/M stuff was still intact. Just attached to a 302 the drive is the original Holman Moody / Volvo 200. As for the boat the exact year is unknown it was registered as a 72 when i bought it. Its an 18 2+3 barrel back. I pretty much knew it was not a 72 based on the hull number i was able to narrow it down to the 68 69 range, looking at other barrel back hull numbers. Having the engine year just confirms my finding. I will get some pics up soon.

My hornet was the same way the bell housing was there but the 1968 289 was long gone let me see if I can find anything more out for you

Matt I tried to reply to your pm but having trouble, keep getting an error.

Hull # C18-209. I tried contacting Donzi years back and they very politely told me that the archives had been moved. I later found out to a dumpster during the OMC years. your help is greatly appreciated. I have owned the boat for over 20 years it would be nice to know more about it. Thanks
Dan
