Just went to D Org it has been hacked by Ry Ghost telling them their security is weak!

Not being net savy and rather naive about these things, I would like to know what is the motivation for someone to hack a site or spread a virus (other than self amusement)

IMO the big issue with hacking is fines and sentencing which has been very light for many years, the exception is the high profile cases. I feel many think as long as they don't do something big the consequences are minimal, which to me is BS they need to step things up.

I thought that it would be a relatively simple fix for the .org guys and I want to say that I didn't mean to make fun of the situation there. I hope they can resolve this soon. :(
