Volvo 280T vibration

My volvo 280T drive has developed a vibration over the later part of the summer. I can feel it in the steering wheel when turned hard to either direction, when the drive is trimmed all the way down or when trimmed up a bit high. I swapped props and it's still there. It's been there a little for quite a while, but in the last few weeks has gotten alot more noticable. It's kind of a rough feeling vibration. I've been told possible U joints and/or intermediate assembly. What do you guys think?

a vibration when the drive is at it's outer most movement up down left or right is usually the U Joints

make sure to pull the bellows lose and check for water in them. don't let them sit with water in bellows pull the upper if there is fast and easy way to get to them

My 250 did the same thing, it's a tell tale sign the u joints are going

Don't feel bad Kirby, I pulled my boat last weekend and then proceeded to snap both distributor cap screws off.

I will pull the distributor in the spring.

You will need to find out if you have a fine or course spline for the input shaft on your setup. I have a set of u joints for a course spline shaft from an older 250 let me know if you need them. I think the newer 270 and 280s are fine splined though
