At a hidden away local yard I may have found a smoking deal! The boat was put in storage five years ago, owner gave up and gave title to the yard owner. He says any reasonable low offer will buy it, the boat is shrink wrapped so pics are not available. I looked into it from a ladder and it looked decent, if someone is really interested I can shoot interior and under the hatches. Bottom and shafting look fine. got a hunch someone with get a great deal. Located eastern Long Island NY.

Phil

Second inspection "With a Bad Back" Bottom and running gear look good no signs of blistering, windshield is decent, fuel tanks have been replaced look darn good no corrosion. Upholstery looks ok no rips or tears, it does have to port glasses that need replacement. It is missing one heat exchanger (cannibals), instrumentation is antique. I know the yard owner he is a "Hand shake guy" some will appreciate what that means. To me this is a run don't walk deal it will go for spit!

Hello Mike.
I wonder if You got some photos of Your Sportsman to share? Found the one that Your Friend Jerry posted way back. By the way, were You able to buy one of the Sportsman prints that Michael Aronow and Charlie McCarthy were going to offer through HORBA?

Thank You Phil for helping prospective buyers out. Seen this 1967 advertised for a couple of years, also on Long Island, maybe that's an interesting boat too?

The Allardmarine.com site has some nice Donzi brochures posted. Here's the 1967 brochure: http://www.allardmarine.com/1967%20catalogue.htm

WOW,

Thanks to Jerry for posting that. AS soon as I dig out some pics I sure will. I did call the number. That little guy that was :smash: at the Helm is now a big guy and wants his own. We are looking forward to talking with him.

Look forward to see what You did up Mike. Great to hear that the young skipper featured is ready to become his own Captain. It's almost impossible not to be bitten by the boat bug if one gets the opportunity to take the helm at a young age.
