I had some fun yesterday afternoon when we spotted a water moccasin on our drive through Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge here in north Texas. My wife was more concerned than I was. (No snake was harmed in this encounter)

I always wanted to come down and visit you. But
I have an extreme fear of snakes, even more so big ones like that...Ed

Ed, I almost never get to handle snakes like when I was younger, but I have to admit that I find them fascinating critters. I actually have a speckled kingsnake that a friend gave me about 3 years ago. If you could ever come visit, I promise no snakes - :crossfing:.

I wouldn't do that with a non-venomous snake!

Apparently there are not many snake people here - back to boating :wavey:

Where's the snake? All I see is you holding a stick. It's like "here's a picture of me looking at a UFO." :)

If my enthusiasm for studying this guy came through that well, then a picture does tell a thousand words. I didn't post this picture since it does not show my intense concentration. It was 105 degrees and I was a little nervous and thrilled with the find.

She looks pretty chill, most of the time they are AGGRESSIVE!

We have an EPIC (7') Texas Ratsnake living in our barn... keeps the furry critters down. Scare the jeebers out of Janet, though!!
