I am saddened to hear Bob Cox is gone. Although I give kudos to a guy that made it work for himself and no doubt the thousands that benefited from his aggressive

Pursuit of his dreams in Lauderdale and in the thousand Islands.

Kathy and I had a great few hours with Mr. Cox in Clayton two a few years ago. Bob knew every one that we talk about here on this site. He raced, did business, drank and parties with and of coarse boated with all the great boat racers, builders mechanics and boat dealers probably in the whole country. I know his favorite boat (and it’s at his dock in Clayton as we speak) is a 30’ Cigarette that he customized and has owned for maybe 20 years.
Bob is a founding Father of the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton NY. His summer home, on Grindstone Island is a mere mile from the museum. Many of the boats on display are either owned or donated by Bob and his Wife (and Family)
He knew what he wanted and he went after it.
Like I said I am saddened. He was 95 and he lived ever year with Moxie.
