View Full Version : I made a horrible discovery!
As some know I like Google Earth, this morning I was scoping out some of the Massachusetts coast. There is an island called Nomans Land Island, upon inspection I found one of the largest beachings of whales looks like a hundred+. If you go to the northern tip using Google Earth you will see hundreds of beached whales, the image date is 3/11/13. Below is a link to the island history and a good view to help finding it on GE, get near the cape and punch in the name.

Yes they are seals. They get pretty big and have become a nuisance on Cape Cod. They are eating all the fish and are attracting a rather large number of great white sharks especially in the Chatham area. The fishing and swimming are suffering but the sharks have created alot of attention.

U wanna see something pretty wild? Look up Deep Hole Myakka State Park. Its at the southwest end of Lower Myakka Lake. Its an almost perfectly round sink hole. Take a close look at the shoreline.
