It is a thing of beauty!

Are you going to make any predictions, or do you have any expectations as to what the dyno results will be?

Woobs, I have been following your project with a lot of interest. By far the best 4.3 build I have ever seen. Can't wait to see the dyno numbers and more importantly hear how it works in your boat. Top notch execution - the attention-to-detail shows in your picture.

I'll throw out the first guesstimate: 275 hp at 4900, 340 tq at 3400.

Thanks, I don't think I've seen many 4.3's all tarted up like this...

Hard to guess what the outcome will be with so many new variables. The biggest of course being the custom grind in the cam. The original lump pushed out 175 HP brand spankin'... The new fangled injected versions are up to 235-240HP I think... If this (old school) hot rod pushes 230 I'll do backflips but, of course I'd really like to see 250 or better.

Perhaps we should have a contest? Guess the HP/TQ I'll put up a top quality sweatshirt from my clothing company (PT Gear)!

Here's the skinny....

4.3L bored 5 thousandths over (hardly anything)
Vortec heads, very mild port (more of a clean up)
Roller rockers 1.6:1 (with matched springs)
Cam profile attached
Edelbrock 2114 dual plane, low rise Performer intake manifold
Edelbrock 1409 Performer 600cfm marine carb w/calibration kit
Mechanical fuel pump
Gaffrig 8"x3" spark arrestor
Hi-Tek marine exhaust manifolds
OE ignition, mallory marine 8mm wires
Aluminum circulating water pump
Alloy pullies

Closest to peak HP wins.
Tie settled by closest to max torque.
One guess per member.
(duckhunter, since you jumped before it was a contest, you may guess again, or hold firm...up to you)

***Bonus ...
Guess the weight of the engine (as dyno'd) and win a cap from my other company (Canadian Pacific Steamships)

Good luck/Bon Chance!75955.

OK, I was probably a little ambitious on my first SWAG...

Revised guesstimate: 242hp / 280tq
Dressed weight 735 lbs.

I still think it will be a barnstormer compared to a stock 4.3, and I am a fan of that engine in smaller boats.

Firsts of all Sean nice job on the build and the finished product. I hope that it fires up and performs right away.

My guess 253/277

Good luck. :crossfing:

Going with 248 on the HP...not sure how to really estimate where the peak torque will come out.
