Interesting. I wonder which one this is. SE #1 vanished and was said to have been sold in Canada but I wonder if this is actually #1. The X-dim looks low which would suggest that it is one of the early hulls. I only know of three confirmed SE's, #1 was the factory boat used at the 2002 Dealer Show, #2 went to a NH car dealer but had a Whipple installed, and mine, #3 in black. These boats did not have unique HIN's so there is no way to confirm the #'s.

Low hours but it certainly doesn't look like they took care of the engine compartment; pretty dirty. And it's a 540-500EFI?? That would have to be confirmed, maybe a mistake unless someone changed the block?

Oh and BTW, these boats actually weigh +3700 lbs, 300 lbs heavier then a regular 22C due to the extra glass and hardware on the boat.

After chatting with the owner I'm pretty sure this is SE #1, the boat that was at the 2002 Factory Dealer Show in July of 2001 and used for the Powerboat test atricle, The "Wild Child". The boat has a very early HIN being the third 22C built for 2002 finished in June of 2001. This is a great boat and someone should snatch it up while it's available. As far as I know this is the first one to be re-sold. The other SE's are still in original owner's hands.

The Wild Child review was saved on the boards here, http://www.donzi.org/forum/showthread.php/992-Donzi-22-Classic-Boat-Tests

I saw a red one of these on Lake George last year, is it someone on here's? It looked really good. It was being trailered through Bolton Landing then I saw it in front of Red Rock Bay a few weeks later.

I'm not aware of any red 2002-03 SE's. All we really know of are two blue stripe SE's and one black stripe SE, all 2002's. Donzi didn't want to build the black boat since they wanted them all to be Merc. blue to match the 500EFI color but the ordering dealer insisted on black. I'd be surprised if they built a red one but it is possible. Did the boat you saw have the same graphics just in red?

There is/was one in lake George blue stripe also had a whipple on it. Haven't seen it in a few years not sure what hull it was of the three there are pics of it up on the LGDCC gallery

Matty,
I've always considered the LG boat #2 since it appeared between #1 and mine. Again the one for sale is C2003, buit June 2001. Mine is C2027, built May 2002. It appears that they would switch model years in June, just prior to the Dealer Show??

Could RockyS18 be referring to Todd's boat? It has solid red hull sides and deck stripe but doesn't have the SE graphics.

It's in NY, maybe that's the exact one.

I do think the one that had come to a few of our events was a blackhawk so it must be that boat

I tried to order a sleeper SE, no special graphics, together with another Donzi-phile, but I couldn't get together with Donzi on price at the time. I cribbed the "SE" designation, because I built my own version, starting witn a stocker. The SE in my instance stands for "Somerville Edition". Sorry to muddy the water.

FWIW, Rick has got it right, from my view, on the history of these boats, as I remember. I could get over the dirt, if I was looking for something truly special, like this boat. The 500 makes this hull sing....
