I don't know anything about it. It is nearby, just saw the ad, today. If it is a true 1964, it would be one of the first.

Somehow, I doubt if being a 64, seeing as how it has an OMC drive on it.

The outdrive could be white, and the owner assumed it was an early OMC outdrive, or it could have been replaced. Some tinkering has been done, if the engine is currently out of it.

Can’t tell from the picture if it could be an early 16.

yes hard to tell from the pics looks to have one pair of clamshells usually a sign of a 66-67 but they may have been added later. probably painted somewhere along the line usually the very early 16 were all white with colored stripes hence the new decals too. without pics of the outdrive could be an early eaton or volvo or who knows the shifter looks different. They sent a good amount of hulls unrigged out into the world .

Noticed the front lift ring is near the gas filler. Is this any indication? They are usually forward of that location, no?

I have been doing some research my self and agree that the vents are a sign of later hull.

Looks to be a low price for bits and parts, if needed for early Ski Sporter.
I am trying to sell 1964 16' but have no reply to post yet.
Maybe offing a parts boat as well would be good idea.
What does the group think?

That location is standard for a pre 1980 skisporter with a 25 gallon tank. The newer sweet 16 post 1990 with a 45 gallon tank had the lift ring closer to the bow due to the front bulkhead moved to accommodate the bigger tank
