My friend is selling his '78 18 2+3. It's a pretty nice original boat...not perfect, but very nice. Original unmolested 260 Merc...

One pic but he has many more:

Really nice looking "survivor" boat. Trailer looks great too. More pics wouldn't hurt chances of a quick sale at all...

Yeah...just shoot him an e-mail for pics and description...I've got nothing in it, just trying to help a friend.

Here are more details on the boat....

•Original 260 HP Mercruiser Alpha One 1st generation running gear in amazing condition with all factory decals still intact. Approximately 100 hours on rebuild. The motor is immaculate as well as the bilge area. Only OEM Mercury parts were used on this motor at all times
•Transition year Donzi - (right steering with Donzi controls)

•Original cream gel coat w/ orange deck stripe and chocolate accent stripe (top left of deck was painted years ago but looks very good) There is a blemish under the “59” logo
•Original tuck and roll vinyl interior with orange piping (bottom rear cushion is not original) (Two small tears in driver’s seat that would be easy to repair)

•Smaller Covico wheel in boat now. Original white wheel incl.

•Fresh tune up & oil/lube change, new starter, new alternator, new battery, new electronic ignition, new bellows and lower unit gaskets

•Boat runs and drives like new. Must see in person to really appreciate it

•Original Donzi trailer with new wiring, LED lights and tires. Trailer was painted in 2010 but has approximately 50 miles on it

•Original American Racing wheels on trailer with all center caps and decals

I have a theory. The pictures were pretty large. When I get home I will resize them and see if they show up.

Wagoneer?

If the pictures are now accessible, you will see the Wagoneer.

Bounce back and let me know if you have the additional pictures in my post above.

N2O, I'm seeing the pictures now, thanks. What a clean boat! I'm digging the color combo - very understated & classy.

The Wagoneer woody is a personal favorite of mine, lots of memories in one of those trucks.

The boat is located in Wisconsin, one hour north of Milwaukee.

I will include the Wagoneer if anyone is interested. $20k takes the whole load and I will fill the boat full of gas because you're going to need it to fill the woody! It really sucks the nitro! I will also throw in a cyphin.....!

The Wagoneer is from CA and is rust free. Built 360 with Edelbrock heads, cam and 4 barrel. New tranny as well. I would trust it on any distance road trip but the carbon footprint is a little nasty.... Needs a little here and there but nothing major.

Nice boat! Is that a Vizsla wearing the life jacket?

Resized pix for faster down load.

And a better picture of the Wagoneer.

I hope someone snaps up this boat. It appears to be a real keeper, in great shape, and a very unusual color combination.

Whenever a boat like this comes up, and someone is debating whether or not to purchase something nice, or buy something that is a project because it is cheaper, I feel compelled to put out the advice to buy the nice boat! In the end, it will cost 2X - 3X LESS than what you will eventually end up spending on a project boat.

About the only reasons NOT to buy a boat like this is that you really enjoy the project portion (gcarter :)), or you want to do something unique, like a special engine/drive.

Bill is definitely spot-on with his comments.

Wagoneer is great too, definitely a thirsty beast and the first true luxury SUV.

Sold!
And I can't say enough good things about Adam. He was gracious, patient, accommodating, professional and gentlemanly. The boat is coming to upstate NY and will be enjoyed on Raquette Lake for a long time to come. I can't wait and I haven't been this excited since my wedding night and that was 36 years ago!!!

Congrats!
Beautiful boat, looks very well cared for.
Try to bring it to the Lake George Donzi Club Fall Picnic the weekend after Labor Day so I can see it! ;)

Tim, congrats on the purchase.

Unfortunately, Raquette Lake isn't upstate enough.

You need to bring it to the 1K Islands.
