Anyone added a clear windscreeen to a 27 Zx?

I have a 1997 27 Zx, have been looking at adding a 3-4 inch clear acrylic windscreen attached to the lip of the existing opaque one. Anyone already been down this path, positive or negitive feedback welcome.
