I just spoke to a guy today who said that Chris Craft made a boat that used a plug from a 20 or 22 Donzi... Had the Donzi hull with a more family-oriented Chris Craft top. Something about the OMC years?
Anybody heard of this?

I've heard that there are some of the OMC era 18's that say "Donzi by Chris Craft" on the tag - but I can't think of a boat from that era that had a 24 degree hull and a "family" style deck.....hmmmm.

Two of the 18s that I bought in 1971 for resale were powered by Volvo/Chris-Craft
LT-1 GM combos that I believe were rated at 350 horsepower, but they were still very much full fledged DONZIs!.......Just....forgetful....ol red!

It's the other way around. OMC put a Donzi sticker on a Chris Craft. They had a "R" designation. They made an Donzi "R" 17,19,21,23 and 25 starting in 1989.
My 18 (Tim's, Genuine Trouble) was made in Chris Craft's Goshen,Inidana plant.

Could it be the Chris Craft XK-22 from the mid 70's ?
