Does anyone know what the difference is between the Jabsco 11850-0801 and the 11850-0701?
My original is the 1801, but I found and bought a "NOS" 0701 on ebay for a pretty good price. Now I'm crossing my fingers that they are virtually the same. Sure look the same in the picture.

Thanks a lot,
Dave

David let me do some research you have the old holman moody crank driven pump? or is it a pulley driven pump

what I see on my docs is the 0701 0801 and 0811 and 0711 are all pumps with the correct offset for inlet and outlet but are pulley driven. last year I looked for a replacement for my HM 1801-1811 style and they are no longer made. I looked everywhere for New old stock sitting on a shelf getting dusty

I'll keep you posted.

They look similiar and share some of the same parts. The 0701 appears to be pulley driven vs. crank driven.

The parts are available to rebuild your 11850-0801. I just finished mine with the following parts.

93000-0090 Seal
96080-0080 Seal Kit
1210-001 Impeller Kit.

These breakdowns may help.

This is the cheapest repair kit (90117-0001) I could find @ $71. It does not include the bearing seal.

Most of the time they are" file pictures", for representation purposes . But some e bayer's do use actual photos.

Mine is original crank driven. Sure wish is was pulley mounted, better method in my opinion. The crank style requires a lot of fussing with shims to keep things stress free.
I have a rebuild kit Infound on eBay years ago, but I'm optimistic that this one I bought will work. Going to be nice having a spare.
Back in the 90's when I restored this boat, I was able to have the pump factory rebuilt at the Jabsco facility just up the road from me in Costa Mesa. They only charged me about $35- !

Should have the pump in the mail by this weekend, I'll let y'all know if it works.
Isn't ebay wonderful?

David,

not sure if you have the HM front motor mount but that does limit choices for pulley driven accessories looking at the pic Joe posted it just looks like the bolted a pulley to where the drive plate is on the crank driven one.

The 0701 and the 0801 are identical with the exception of the brass plate. And, it could be used with that as well. I was lucky to get this, they're hard to find.
Thanks to all that replied.

Thanks that is good to know

what is your plan to drill the HM mounting plate to match the new pattern on the brass plate?

Very cool! Nice to know. What is the purpose of the "port" on the brass plate for on the 0701?

I was told many years ago by Jabsco that my pump 11850-80 had been replaced by 11850-0801 which even then was obsolete and had been replaced by 11850-0711, which I understand has been discontinued. So when cruising ebay any of those should work

Actually I don't need to drill or do anything to use this pump, except use the round brass plate from the old pump. The plate that came with the new one would probably work, but it is significantly thicker material.
And although this pump has never been used, I'm going to put in a new nitrile impeller.
Yesterday, I borrowed my neighbor's press and dissasembled my old pump. Remember it was Jabsco factory rebuilt about 15 years ago, so I was surprised to see a lot more wear than expected. Have to find a bearing for it, this one's shot. Once I find that, hopefully I can reassemble it without cracking that dang ceramic seal. Will be nice to have the old pump for a back up.

My tip for the day: If you find one of these old pumps for a good price, BUY IT!

Thanks everyone for you contributions,

Dave
