Agree. Folks underestimate the cost of a proper color sand and polish to get a hull to look like yours does. Did Merc offer the 260HP package like your boat has in MPI in 1996 or was that added in later years?

Showing off the deck shinning

I am not sure when Merc offered the MPI.... I think it might have been 1998 or 1999 I am sure the real experts will chime in and correct me That way I will know for sure too...... Mine IS a carbourated 5.7L V-8

To keep things “clean” in the DONZIS FOR SALE section, I decided to move the above posts to their own thread. THEDONZ33 brought his listing into a listing for another boat. To make it easier for potential buyers, I created this thread so his boat could be more easily found.

I took the liberty of making layout changes (easier reading) and minor corrections to the ad.

The boat is located in the Chain-O-Lakes, Illinois.

The ad:

OWN A LEGEND !!! DONZI 16 CLASSIC Argaubly the most recognizable fiberglass boat ever created. The 16 Classic boasts a pedigree like none other. Don Aronow launched the first 16 Ski-Sporter in early 1964. When reintroduced in 1990, it became know as the "Sweet 16." A hull that is so successsfull it has remained vertually unchanged since.

This is probably the cleanest 16 you will find on the market:
• Engine: Single 260 hp 5.7 L Mercruiser, V8 350 cid Thunderbolt V Ignition
• Drive: Alpha One Gen 2
• It is an original With minor upgrades
• Garage kept and Captain maintained
• Two covers 1 full mooring and 1 Tonneau
• Custom Eagle Trailer
• Stainless Steel Prop
• White deck and hull with Teal deck and Boot Stripes
• Very shiny gelcoat with no flaws or fading of the stripe
• Factory Windshield and Grab Rail
• 2+3 Seating (all apholstry in exellent condition-- NO rips, tears, holes or freyed stitching)
• Original cockpit carpeting shows only minor traffic wear
• Stainless steel through Transome exhaust
• Bennett Trim Tabs

This is a very stunning boat that gets A lot of attention on the water!! Call to schedule a sea trial today 708-790-7333. captaindalev@aol.com

Thanks for the new thread and the exposure... I was mainly looking for pricing validtation vs. comparable boats on the market, and to make a point that bargain boats rehabs can add up quickly, Unless you are looking for a Project quality boats are there for just about the same overall cost. They just take some time searching to find.
P.S. Thanks for the editing.... I pulled my description from the 2013 16 Classic Donzi online brochour and wondered about copywrite infringement, besides I like your edit much better !!!

To put the project idea into perspective, I now have over $30K in mine. Other than having a custom Keith Eickert engine, it is no nicer than yours, and you have a much better trailer, and more options.

Clean boat, good pictures & ad, and priced right. This shouldn't last too long - spring will arrive at some point. Good luck with her sale.
