Does not say what year but I would think it's a 1998............$32,500

29' Warlock former world Championship winning Factory-one race boat. 500HP and turn-key bullit proof motor. She will seat 5-6 persons. I can't list everything
but if you call 407-436-4571 I can explain every inch of this boat. She drives from planeing to wide-open better than anything I have driven. This boat will hit 80mph and feel like you are in a limosine, what ever the conditions are. Your whole family will feel safe at all times. If you are a real shopper forget the e-mails just call. I will reluctantly let her have a new home for $32,500 She cost $140,000 when new. The paint job and motor alone are $40,000 The price is a steal as she is in impecable condition. One look/ride and you will either buy her or dream about her forever.

Greg,
That is a great looking boat with lots of expensive work already done. I have never seen graphics continue to the trailer like that - highly cool! Do you have any more pictures of it? Bill

These things are growing on me - cool boats.

How is the 500hp boat hitting 80, the 750hp boat in OK running 84, and the 650hp boat running 92?

I have no direct experience with the 29 and I can't say if the 29 has the same pad as the 25 and 27 which would have a big effect on top speed. The 25's at 4,000lbs with a 496HO have tipped 77 with that 425hp. If it takes 10hp for every additional 1mph and you loose about 1mph for each 100lbs of added weight the math is telling you that 92mph might not be in the cards.

Here is "Screamin Eagle", a 2003 Warlock 29 that was a frequent winner on the race course around 2006 I believe. I guess it sold a while back in Florida with 500EFI power.

PRICE REDUCED !! Exceptionally Clean One Owner Boat. Professionally Rigged And Maintained. A Proven Winner By Holding Several Winning Titles Making It The Perfect Race/Poker Run Combination. The owner just had a COMPLETE NEW INTERIOR INSTALLED in the cockpit. The boat was just completely re-rigged. Trailer Available.
Mercury Racing 500EFI w/XZ Bravo, Bravo 4 Blade Prop, Hydraulic Steering, K-Planes, Battery Switch, Seafire Halon Fire Suppression, Gaffrig Gauges, Gaffrig Throttles, Intercom System w/Ship To Shore Radio, New Stereo, Depth Finder, Garmin 162,Cockpit Cover And Mooring Cover, Screaming Eagle Graphics Are Vinyl And Can Be Removed.

Yeah roger, I was just kind of noting the discrepancy between the three very similar 29s listed here with odd power to speed ratios. I guess at the end of the day it behooves the buyer to bring a GPS to validate top-end if it is important to him. No doubt these are pretty efficient hulls and neat boats overall. Seem to be very realistically priced as well.

I'm burning time waiting to fly to CA and you got me to wonderin duckhunter. If the Warlock 25 World Class weighs 4000 would a 27 weigh 4500 would a 29 weigh 5000lbs? If the 25 WC does a best of 77mph with a 496HO then would that same motor in theory should push the 27 WC 5mph slower (72) and the 29 WC 5mph slower then that or 67 ?

Now assume that the 29 WC has the same pad design as the 25 and 27...........

So take the baseline of say 67mph for a 496HO/502 and build it back up for a 500EFI adding back in 80hp and 8mph and you are at 75mph for the 500EFI not the 80 being claimed. Now look at the 750hp 29 WC. If the baseline is 75 for a 500EFI then what does another 250 ponies buy you when the guy saying he has 650hp claims 92mph. My sense is that the 92mph claim is a little high and the 84mph claim is low only because the driver does not have the experience and cajones to use all 750 hamsters.

Now I will say that the pad on the 29 does not look the same as the 25 and 27.........hmmmmm :screwy::screwy:

Agreed, I'd say ALWAYS take a handheld GPS for a sea trial. If you don't have one and can't find one to borrow, it is probably worth buying one even if you never use it again.

03-16-2013, 09:31 PM
Agreed. Looks like Warlocks are safely 85MPH top speed in the 29 foot length. Hard to argue with that given 25 (Edit 3/22: actually 24) degrees of deadrise. Wave crushers and balls out fast.
Who else is making a 25 (Edit 3/22: 29 WC's are actually 24 degrees) V these days?

Here is a 1997 World Class 29 that did not sell a year ago and now came back on the market. Someone who knows the math can run the numbers on an 850 HP motor and 34" prop to see if 100mph makes sense. These boats weigh 4,850lbs light on fuel. ............$42k

Up for sale is a 1997 ultimate warlock with a stepped hull, completely remodeled in 2004, with alarm, everything on this boat is custom including an Outerlimits interior. It has a fully built JC performance engine, Chevy big block 568ci, with supercharger, canfield heads, and dry sump oil pump, too many mods to list. Recently serviced. 850 hp motor with less than 200 hours. It also has a bravo XR drive with less than 10 hours, bought new not rebuilt. It is still under warranty. Huge k planes,The drive has a bravo 34" pitch worked prop. This is a 100 mph boat, gps verified (serious inquires only no joyrides). This boat is in showroom condition and has always been kept in dry storage. Trailer has a new axle just put on and all four tires are new, trailer is included. 42,000 obo Alex 786-282-0862

Agree. There is an interesting speed trend developing with these 24 degree Ultimate Warlock World Class 29 hulls that are for sale. Late 1996 would've been the first year for this hull.

Stock 502MPI spinning a Bravo One 26" making 415 hp................ 67 MPH..........$29,000
Stock 500 EFI spinning a labbed Bravo One 28" making 500 hp ......80 MPH..........$32,500
Blower 502 making 650 hp .................................................. ......92 MPH..........$46,980..........Sold 4-1-13
Blower 568 spinning a Bravo One 34" making 850 hp.....................100 MPH.........$42,000

That is an interesting roll-up of speed vs. HP. Seems plausible for an efficient 29' deep-v.

I guess the outlier is the boat in OKC with the blower shop 525 @ 750hp running 84? Maybe he's toting a REALLY big cooler? That or a little high on his hp estimate, which seems more probable.

Either way, these are awesome boats. Seem to be priced realistically as well. They're definitely on my radar for when mama and I are ready to graduate from the bowrider to a go fast.

I was wondering about the speeds of these Warlock 29's as well. The pad on the 29 is a bit different than the 25 and 27 I guess because the 1996 29 was the first model they built, raced, and experimented with. Pad looks to be almost flat and maybe 8" wide. 73mph with a 496HO is pretty sweet.

Interesting to see that close up of the bottom. I suppose that technically it's a deep V, but between the pad and those huge (can you call them strakes?), it seems like a good bit of it is very flat back there, at least near the transom. Explains some of the speed data. I bet the effective deadrise is more like 11 degrees at high speed when it's mostly up out of the water.

duckhunter
03-25-2013, 08:45 PM
I gotta get a good picture of the hull on my lowly bowrider. It's a 21deg deep vee between the strakes, with a 8 inch wide shallow vee pad extending from the step to the transom. I think it's pretty sexy for a floating party barge - definitely not a traditional runabout hull.

She doesn't have enough beans to get all the way up on the pad yet, but you guys better stand by for when I get this sucker running and propped right....:drive:

Greg Guimond
03-25-2013, 09:04 PM
Other guys with more experience on the site would know better but I believe that Delta Pad's and Steps were becoming very popular back in 1996. When conditions are snotty you benefit from the 24 degree deadrise because the hull is settled when running slower. If conditions allow, "kaboom" the hull step aerates and then pops up on that pad. It gives me 10mph extra on my 16 Classic, so I guess that same principle gave the Warlock's a pretty major speed advantage over other 29's back in the day. The pad shown below on a 29 is almost flat.

The pad design certainly helps speed as does the serpentine step amidship. Probably very progressive for its day. Picture of step below.....

Correct, and gives a pretty cool look at what a step does to wetted surface I guess. Although once you are flying the hull is balanced on the pad for the most part. At least that is how mine works.

Hell if I know, although it clearly dominated the race course and was 10mph faster than like powered V hulls back in the late 90's. Now I'm curious and will find out lol. Here is a good arial photo of a 29 Warlock mid-cabin open bow. Very useful pleasure layout.

How is a "serpentine step" different from a regular one?

I'm on "the hunt for serpentine step October" but interesting that Pump it Racing is still competitive in 2013 with a 2000 Warlock World Class 29 although the hull evidently delaminated at some juncture. The picture below gives a pretty good look at the serpentine step location.

An early picture of yet another Warlock 29 race hull that won a lot of races. This boat won the 1995 Championship which makes me wonder if the "29" World Class might have been built as early as 1995?

Edit 6-8-13: The article attached is from Powerboat Magazine's January 1996 issue and reports that What's Instore won the 1995 Championships. This would confirm that the first Warlock 29's were actually Ultimate Warlock 29's and were built sometime during 1995 right about when Tom Stolarz sold Team Warlock to Carter Reed. That first hull did not have the Serpentine Step and was a pad bottom 24 degree V. If you look closely at the photo you see there is no step on What's Instore.

It looks like a 1996 Ultimate Warlock 29 World Class just popped on the market. This is interesting as it has twin 454MPI's unlike all the others that have singles. Also, this early build does NOT have the serpentine step. It turns out that the single step was added to the 29 in 1997, and for two years before that, 1995 and this 1996 that just came up for sale were just pad bottom 24 degree hulls..........$30k

This boat's coming about was supervised by legendary racer Peter Dean of Propco Propellers. Here's a link to the ad and a few photos of Mr. Dean etc.

2001 World Class 29 warlock - $35000 (Lake Lanier)

Here is a very nice 29 warlock world class built in 2001 new as an APBA F1 race boat, there is 235 hours on hull but only 30 hours on the rebuilt HP500 engine and Bravo One outdrive. the hull is blue printed and the boat has been impecably maintained and always stored inside. this is a very fast boat that runs in the low 80's and includes lifting straps and nice steel trailer. the bolster and cockpit cover is an insert and can be remove to install a standard style interior or put her in the water and go racing tomorrow. boat is located in Gainesville, GA on lake Lanier just north of Atlanta. feel free to ask any questions. The Boat loves rough water. Great poker run boat. Serious inquires only.. I am not interested in putting my boat at a brokerage.

Yeah roger. I don't have a bunch of Ed Hardy t-shirts or a fake tan, and I don't spend 45min every morning getting my little goatee "just right" and manscaping my sack, so I can't do the flames.

The plain white 29 on the previous page would be cool for a vinyl wrap or some raceboat graphics, but it had twins.

One of the reasons I'm kinda partial to these things is that they're good runners on a single. I'm not ready to step up to twins yet. There's a lot to be said for one engine to feed & maintain and not having to use forced child labor to reach the spark plugs.

I like the 25+ foot, MCOB, deep v, 75+mph on a single, and that seems to be a tough combo to find outside of the left coast.

Here is a 1996 Ultimate Warlock 29 that just listed. This boat is fully cored and has a race heritage. $33,500

This Ultimate Warlock 29 World Class race boat has now been re-classified as "built in 1994". That solves the mystery of when the first hulls were built. Carter Reed started the Ultimate Warlock line with the 29 footer. The deck actually offers less cabin room than the 27 foot model. It was a low deck race design. This 1994 would be the very first 29 built for APBA race duty. Light layup, cored hull, and extra bulkheads. The very first 29s do not have the step or the pad, that came later. The seller has had this for sale for a year now and just dropped his price to .......... $29,500

Description:

This 29 world class was built in 1994 to be Warlock's first A-1 class race boat. Her blue printed hull is balsa core and vacuum bagged, is super light non production model. She has had a recent interior job to make her a luxury go fast. In 2013 a new 540ci 629hp-612trk on dyno, hood scoop, Imco dual ram steering system, upgraded bravo drive and a 5 blade prop. She has hit 83mph and could do more with perfect conditions. The stereo has 3 JL amps, 2 13in subs, 6 focal speakers, to rock your brains. She is truly a one of a kind, a must see, needs nothing, turn key. I have more pictures if you inquire. Will Consider Trade Plus Cash for a Motorcycle/Car/Truck

Yes, and all of the disclaimers which I pointed out on that thread. I would never buy a used boat from Shogren.
Shogren is slim ball company. They advertised my boat at 50hrs. I "thought" I could trust that they verified the hours being as they were a large company. My mistake. I checked the computer when I got it and it had 176hrs.
Literally a 5 minute job for them to verify hours on the computer, so I'm fairly confident Shogren knew the exact hours when they sold it.
Boat even had a hour meter on the engine that read 76hrs (which I suspect was installed with the S/C), so they knew they were lying when advertising 50hrs.
