I dunno, it may be a blessing it isn't............................

Sounds like a good deal.....but George is probably right. That $500 can turn into $50, 000 pretty quick.
On another note, it's unlikely it's a real Donzi. A real 16C in BC is extremely rare. Quite a few splashes though

Those crazy Canadians.
For 500 I would have to go look.

Yup, could be a blessing...but you don't know unless you look.
My point is there isn't many of these opportunities that even appear around here!

It's a shame to write off older hulls like this even if it is a splash. It could still be an "on the cheap" project if you're not worrying about DONZI correctness.... For $500 the trailer could be worth it.

Wanted: 21' to 24' rough water project Hull (for wood deck conversion)
gotta be cheap though!
what does this mean?

Well, it looks to me like the deck is gone...........

If someone wanted a 16' wood deck conversion, then this might be the one!

This has been done before, right here in Central Florida (Mt. Dora).

It means ...
1) that is how I found this 16' hull.
2) if it were 21' to 24' and local...I'd be making a trip to check it out.
:)

With the original deck missing $250 should do it...

The deck is in place on the supplied photos.
Now, whether or not, it is servicable is another question.

:) LOL! Squatches LOVE splashes. You should see them when they find a rope swing.

My wife says I write and talk in topic sentences...................

What I meant by the deck being gone, is that it is shot and sagging in the middle.
It would require a tremendous amount of work to restore.
I (personally) don't think it's worthwhile considering the amount of work involved and the LACK of rarity in a 16.

Of course, a wood deck replacement is a different proposition.

I wouldn't have considered this particular orphan as the basis of my planned project...
It's simply not what I'm looking for. (That, and 3000 miles)

My reason for posting the link was that performance hull projects rarely present themselves north of the boarder (and even more rarely near me...like never)...When I've seen them anywhere within a considerable distance they have been either not what I'm looking for or quite pricey. $500 in rural BC looked like it might be worth a look to someone.

You never know what you'll find when you're looking and around here many of the members have been following these boats for a long time....someone may know a particular boat.

I did find a 35' Formula for $3500 though...

Still not for me.

word to Yeller...Not for me. Hell....I'm having a hard enough time getting my 22 back on the water.

I know Fogducker was looking for a project.......

I had a beer with Sasquatch at Pine Stump Junction in the Michigan UP a few weeks back. He was thristy, but he didn't seem too interested in talking about Donzi splashes...
