Quick sidebar. Having had my Wolverines get spanked by both, I feel qualified to comment on Alabama-ND. The Irish are a great squad, but Alabama is the better team, in my view. They just have more talent and ability. Though the Irish run defense is a bit of a wild card. Still, I think if these teams play over and over, Alabama wins 3 out of 4.

But I feel like tonight just might be the one.

Whatever happens, here's to a great game both can be proud of.

Diaspointed it was a lopsided game (Ghost doing the Namath call right down to the score)
but Irish looked flat from the start, no running game.............Bama is a powerhouse!

bama is a great team and program , we needed to set the tone with our defense we kick off and the defense forgets what got us there basic fundamentals finish your tackles. a couple of calls that might have stopped the momentum with better field posisition, but we still needed to play better to beat a team of that caliber.

it was a great season with a bright future for the Irish.

LOL about the Namath call. Might have inadvertently slipped it under the radar but I labeled it the "35-7 EDIT" because that was the score when I wrote it. Was pretty much just laughing at myself for having been so wrong a mere 2 hours earlier. :) (I do think the two bad calls influenced the way the game went, but I don't think it would have changed the winner.)

We play ND most years and overall, I thought this was about the most formidable Irish team I could remember. I agree, a great season and my guess is they only get better for another couple years.

All of which is huge implicit praise for the Tide--those guys are beasts. Congrats to the champions.

Seen so many letdowns after a win like last week. Feels like if all the stars line up, the Ravens win a fairly close one. But there's real risk that even if they are close, they'll have to gamble late, going for 4th downs and taking the risk of having Joe hold the ball too long. Which often turns into a last-minute TD for the opposition. So a very close game could still easily end with 10 pts difference.

I SO hope I'm wrong. I hope they are just crazy-fired-up and play out of their minds, running away with it.

Ravens in 1st preseason game: 17 - 3

I couldn't have been any more proud of the Baltimore fans today .
The Ravens victory parade route thru the streets from city hall to Ravens stadium was packed solid with countless 1000's. They arrived at M&T Bank stadium which was at capacity crowd / all seats filled and the playing field packed to witness the homecoming. The police has to close off any further entrance, It was spectacular !

It's a good day in Baltimore !

- over 80,000 in the stadium alone - it's Tuesday, a lot called in sick today :outtahere:
