For Awakening Of The Horses (AOTH XIII) and have a few exciting changes this year!

For the theme will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of Thunderboat Row on 188th Street in Miami!

On the evening of Thursday May 16, as the last of the folks arrive, we will have a Show N Shine sponsored by the Donzi Marine Restoration Society in the lower hotel parking lot. The cool part of this is we have joined efforts with the local car clubs to bring some of their hardware as well! Dinner will be served at the Show N Shine. So get your boats cleaned and blinged! Don't let Fishinsucks show us all up! No doubt the LipShip crew/family will be in force!

For dinner on Saturday we are bringing the Texas BBQ back! Be ready to eat and buy some Donzi/Aronow goods at the auction hosted by our very own Donzi comedian FishinSucks.

We will be updating www.mwdonziclub.com shortly with all the 2013 details. This will include the PDF of the agenda and Registration/release form that will need to be mailed by May 1, 2013.

For planning purposes I will recap the agenda in brief with the major events each day.

Thursday-no planned activities until the Show N Shine in the evening.
Friday-Lunch Run to Lees Ford for lunch.
Saturday-Fun Run/Raffle Run, Texas BBQ Dinner, Auction.

Attached is a sneak peak at the event Shirt!

I also attached the PRE-REGISTRATION packet that need to be RETURNED BY MAY 1st in order for us to get a volume count for food and shirts.

Agenda is also attached.

Count us in, what a great event for those who haven't made the trip, it's an event that I haven't missed since my 1st time, gets better every year, the hardware and people are second to none. Look forward to catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

Never forget some dude walking into my house at Lake Cumberland off the street like he was supposed to be there a couple of years ago...
Turned out to be Steve.

While I won't be involved with the MWDC this year, that just means we'll have more time to relax and enjoy the proceedings. You, Steph,
and the family are always welcome at our place for some fine grill-ables and beverages before AOTH...

We'll have the Flowerpot at the Gorge Run on 7/27, and you guys need to make it down Gregg!

The week before AOTH is normally season commissioning time for the SS, and instead of letting her sit on the lift after all of that work, we are going to enjoy the effort over the weekend! She does run 55, so she ain't no slouch, and I'll let you guys get your start, before I put the hammers down! I do think I will pass on leading one of the segments of the fun run though...

I just booked 2 rooms at Jamestown Marina and Resort and 1 boat slip. My wife Denise cannot make it, I'm bringing my friend Dan Nye (p729lws) with me. Dan had a 22 Classic, he now has a 28 Pantera. Dan's wife may come, but that is still up in the air. I'll get my check and paper work sent in asap. YIPPY-KAI-YAY

He is not kidding. I found him making a pillow of a buttonwood bush last year on Saturday night, and he looked quite comfortable, at least until I woke him up from whatever pornographic dream he was having. He really does mean it, when he says "please don't feed the animals"!

And I've confirmed that a certain Doctor of Assorted Disasters is also joining us with his complete Teal-lishness, so Tom won't be the only character roaming the docks at Jamestown.

We'll be in Wednesday some time, but based on this lovely Spring we have been having, my best laid plans of getting the boat commissioned early are toast. Two engines and drives, a generator, A/C, hot water heater and freshwater, gray water, and electrical systems will all need a check-up, before we even start buffing and cleaning. Don't think she 'll be ready for the show and shine Thursday night.... But we'll be around the docks for sure.

:wavey: well it's official, since 2009 and the great Monsoon lunch run...when the 22 toasted a Roller Lifter on a Thursday afternoon warm up run....with Dwight.... I shall return to the scene of the Crime... the 22 has been "Massaged" a little... not to the extent of the Rooster Boy who never drives his....but it does haul the groceries...

In a normal World I will arrive sometime late Wednesday... but I am traveling with the Undertaker so depending on if his CockPit Cover finds the Interstate, or if some other drama ensues... well I have no idea...

In a World where life constantly reminds me of how short it is, and how short I am... I am never at a loss for words...looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones...please tolerate my King Cobra Drive... its not as cool as the IMCO's or the weak Merc Drives....but it seems to point me down hill often....

Before anyone reads this and starts an interpretation out of context, I have known the Doctor for going on a decade, he is like a short brother to me, and we even called each other the Evil Twins back when we were both running our versions of the 500EFIs, mine stock, and his not-so-stock.

The above is trash talk. It used to generate excitment in anticipation of attending an upcoming event, and takes a certain skill, and open knowledge of your victim, or victims, acquired by attending events and keeping in touch in betrween runs.

So here we go:

1) The Flowerpot in 500 trim used to run a serious rooster at WOT. The Doctor used to use that as an indicator to get his a** in gear! It was fun to watch, I would push the throttle, look back and there he was lulled into a sense of security, keeping his hat on ducked behind the windshield, and generally saving gas cruising at 30 or something. It was always fun to wake him up with a little spritz of spray.

2) The tale of the King Cobra. While he would like to make you think it is an inferior peice, it is a smoke screen for a high x-dimension and a juiced motor. At least he is coming clean now, about the relative "stock" status underneath that Mercury Racing Blue intake. About time.

3) As for the IMCO/Mercury inferiority. I agree, so I will be utilizing two Bravo IIIs this year just to make sure I get back to the Jamestown docks without a tow.

4) The Flowerpot will sit unloved and unused on AOTH weekend. Doc, I grant you your day in the sunshine at Lake Cumberland. If you must experience what it is like to get passed like you just slammed that KC into reverse, please plan on coming down to the Gorge Run on July 27th.

We'll see you and the Undertaker soon, and keep the road side frivolity to a minimum.

:cool!: Ran down to the Bay this afternoon to see if the little boat still floats? Turns out it does...occassionally stalls out when I put it in reverse...but sometimes I can throttle through it...but warning to all...I will have to allow or plan for that... that little Gremlin aside.... it still runs like a Scalded Dog Chasing some of El Jefe's BBQ & Rooster Boys Brisket.... wee doggy.

Bring it on Elvis...will be in the house...the King that is....King Cobra.......haha.

So now its road trip prep time, bearings greased, equipt and gear organized... where did I put that Rooster Trap....hmmm its lying around here somewheres...

Hey Poodle and Haas, I need another OMC King Cobra - Flo- Torque Hub Insert... the one I have is gauled up in my current slow 26 TXP Prop....that only allows it to break a small and short sound barrier... so if anyone can source one...that might allow me to run a new Q IV Hydro 25 I have....

Safe Travels...off to wash the Bay debris off the little boat.....

We had another FANTASTIC AOTH!! Thanks to all the attendee's and those who supported with organizing efforts as well as the world famous FISHNSUCKS auction saturday night! All the boats looked and ran awesome! Towboat only had to be used once and it ended up being just low drive fluid alarm! What a great time to meet new folks and see old friends! If you havent been to the event before you need to mark it on your calendar for next year! It's always the weekend before Memorial Day(May 15-17, 2014)!!

Here are a few pics I snapped with my phone.
