Pat with only 2 posts you are probably better off calling him as he is not a regular.

Ditto that. Or send a PM, which I think will shoot him an email. (Can't remember if it always does, or if it depends on his account settings.)

Bob sent me pics. She's a nice boat that looks to be all original.
I'm not sure I want a boat with a TRS drive. If she had an alpha, then I could switch the the Bravo I've got sitting in my basement without doing glass work.
Weighing options...
Thanks

Aren't TRS drives pretty bulletproof? Sealed case, separate tranny, external water pickup, like a Konrad, right? I'd expect not as fast as a Bravo, due to more gear loss, but I'd *think* you could add lots of power without blowing it up, no? (I'm asking the field more than recommending.)

The TRS is a great drive. Some die-hards will tell you that it is more durable than a Bravo. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy a Classic at that sort of price with one. The downside are the issues that Ghost already mentioned, they are longer than a Bravo, and parts can sometimes be an issue now.

Yes the TRS drives are good. I had a pair on a 28' Cig years ago. I believe they are good to about 600HP; same as a Bravo XR. Parts are getting tougher to find. My preference would be to have a stock Bravo hooked to 400 to 500HP. I'm not looking to go 80+mph; 70+ is just fine. Reliability is more important to me these days...

Not sure if this helps in any way, but if one is concerned about being able to replace one, I think Konrad offers a bolt-up replacement for the TRS. Probably costs 14k, but...
