Nice to see the Classics back. They look the same as they did years ago, which is a good thing. I saw no prices. Anyone know what a new 18 Classic is going for?

They look the same as they did years ago because they are the same pictures they have been using since, I want to say, 2006.

You're right Vette they are old pics. It appears from their description of the 2013 boats that very little will be changed since they got it so right already. Even the engine specs look the same. 350/300. Kind of makes the old boats look timeless. I think they will always look good no matter how much time passes.

The reason there're no new pictures is because no new boats exist.
The last classic 22's were built in '09, weren't they?
New pricing would be interesting for discussion purposes, little else as they'll be $100K+.

Download the 2013 Classic Brochures on the website and you will see new Mercruiser options with cat. Buy and replace exhaust! I am excited that the Classics survived and as a current C22 owner with significant upgrades, the new pricing will fortify our collective upgrades as Classic owners!

not sure on the 16 or 18 but i think they made a 22 in '10 and one in '11

I guess we need to know if the custom only classic is still the business plan or are they going to a production run of classics


some changes yes the 27zr is gone the entry level bigger v bottom will be the baja outlaw line no steps not such a learning curve.


the 4.3 is not listed for the 16 , just the 260 hp 5.0 which i think is a better choice anyway but makes the base price higher. The 18 lists the 350 300 hp mag as the only option again raising the base price . I think the 377 320 hp should be a choice as well but I am sure the factory will still build you what ever you want.

which would be my next concern is what seasoned classic employees are still left ?


if in fact the 16 and 18 are going to be in the 80-100k ballpark, it is going to give the hornet and the sutphen markets a boost.

If, and that means exactly what it means (the gill nets are out utilizing old pictures and mostly old info) Baja does start building a Donzi Classic with any sort of quality from the original tooling, why would anyone want a copy?

Todd, perhaps I'm not as cerebral as you are w/your somewhat cryptic post................

If we are to assume THEY (Baja) is planning to build the three brands in different quarters, different crews, etc, so that a Donzi classic (if someone were to order one) would be built to a different standard (not that Donzi Classics of yore were all that high of a standard), are we to believe that Baja is:
A) Lying

2) Telling the truth

iii) No one would ever by a Donzi (Classic or otherwise) from a company owned by Baja management.

What I intended to state, was why would anyone buy a "copy"-CAT? Got that one out of the way.

As for Baja's intentions, I hope they read these forums seeing the excitement for the Classics, get some serious inquiries for quotes, build a few examples on spec, and price them so an average human can afford them. This would be a great day!

In the mean time, it's just marketing. Call me cautiously optimistic.

Through hulls were an option on the 2009 16, now it's listed as standard feature.

i would think that would be linked to dropping the 4.3 has most 6cyl didn't have thru hulls due to the sound difference from a v8

I don't know about his Donzi roots. I thought his roots are really Cigarette based? And Hawk engines?

Lots of small lakes around here (and elsewhere) that fit a 16 with a V6 beautifully.

I am told by a certain someone who is close to this forum, who worked with Craig at Donzi, that Craig made the decision to keep the Classics.
