Very nice looking and apparently well maintained boat. Is the owner a member of this forum? Anybody seen it before?

If you have problems seeing the pics load it up in IE. The listing has some errors and isn't Chrome friendly.

by the looks of it it is a one owner boat and I don't think the owner is an active member here. the red critters are very uncommon I don't recall ever seeing that one.

Very nice example.

It hurts to look at that trailer w/ rollers instead of bunks IMO.

Can't imagine it will sell, although I know all the reasons why it could.......

can't prove it, but this may be an X members father's boat, who was quite the troublemaker around here for awhile

Super Cool & Rare Boat !

454 @ 535 HP carb normally asperated~~~~Really ???

What do the other style Criterion cockpit configuratons look like ?
Do any have extra hatch covers over the secondary "Mother in law" style cockpits ?

Scott~

I'm sure you have that sort of normally asperated horsepower in a musclecar.

But pushng a carb fueled normally asperated 454 to that sort of horsepower in a marine application, with a usable marine cam and not having exhaust cooling water reversion problem issues is pushing it a bit high don't you think ?

Not if you have dry exhaust ... :)

they do look dry don't they. looks like it's set up to dump so you can see the stream too? i did that once on an old mercury outboard after i lost a water pump and didn't realize it.

looks like the riser is water jacketed then it exits the riser not mixed with the gases then dumps at the end and finally mixes with the gases in the tips nice looking mill

i have a 454 in my 72 monte carlo and Mines 650ish but needs 112 at a minimum..

Yeah!? Well, if I pedal really, really fast on my bicycle, I can hit, like 42 mph! And I'm naturally aspirated!

mattyboy

at those speeds Bill you won't be naturally aspirated for long ;)

bot

think it is a very nice example of a criterion

the exhaust interests me it looks to be a stock system modified to eliminate reversion by mixing water and exhaust gases at the end of the exhaust.

just another thought the criterion tipped the scales just south of 2 ton what kind of HP do you need to get it into the mid 70's mph?

looks to me like the water exits are in the rear deck above the rubrail.... that would make for a VERY warm engine room and noisy environment..

a 454/535hp is not out of the realm of reality with good parts and massaging

but good and consistent fuel quality might be an issue keeping it happy at that level
