Anyone who followed my resto-mod rebuild of the Ski-Sporter will be familiar with the engine replacement I have undertaken this summer.

With the new 4" exhaust, and new engine, I no longer have a use for the Rex Marine 3" inline silencers I used with the first engine. They have 51 hours of freshwater use.

A friend listed them for me on eBay (he had the initiative, I didn't), if anyone is interested. NO RESERVE auction, bidding started at $55. They were sold once, but the buyer backed out.

They do a very nice job of quieting down the exhaust. Just about the perfect combination of being able to hear the V8, but being able to talk very comfortably. When I ordered them, I had to wait 2 weeks, as they appear to make them to order. The quality is as good as I have seen, I just can't use them in this application.

They fit nicely between the OSCO center riser manifolds and transom tips.

From the REX Marine site:

• 10 - 12 dB noise reduction at idle

• Part 161 103, Pair of inline silencers for clamping in 3" exhaust hose, 10" long

• $149.99/pair new
