Hi all,

I joined the forum a couple of years ago and have been pretty much absent since that time. I'd been looking for input on buying a fixer-upper sweet/classic 16, and (through the help of all you good people) came to the conclusion that it would be more economical to save some money and buy one that had already been restored. Well, I've saved a little cash and am once again shopping! Mainly just testing the waters at this point, and I'm not in a huge hurry to make a purchase. I figured that is the best way to get something I really want.

This came up through a Syracuse CL search: http://fingerlakes.craigslist.org/boa/3195593394.html

It is an outboard. Unfortunately, that means it is sans the V8 growl which will set off near by car alarms and make babies cry, a trait that I've long lusted after and is part of what drew me to this brand in the first place :biggrin.:. It does, however, have "the shape" and the price seems right. Excluding the specifics of this particular vessel, am I better off long term with an I/O, whether for higher resale value, enjoyment, or both, or would this be an economical way to get myself into a Donzi? I haven't e-mailed this guy, and it may already be gone. I wanted to educate myself here so that next time something like this comes up, I'll be in the know.

Thanks everyone!

Nik
