Van Ness Engineering will be speaking about ethanol fuel issues in marine engines as well as... big and small block Chevy engines... for boats 1:00 to 1:45 on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the 25th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Festival in St. Michaels, MD. Dave enjoys an ongoing... Q and A while he relates his thoughts. No Donzi Marine specific Seminar could be arranged this year. Engines that had attention at Van Ness Engineering are known to run smooth and his company has a top shelf reputation for attention to museum quality engine detailing across nation-wide.

This is just one within a very full day of six Seminars going from 11 AM to 4:45 PM for this year. While I hoped to have a speaker do something on Donzi Marine, it just did not come together.

Note, this Saturday, June 16, is the day before Father's Day and just one day of the 3 day Boat Festival. Also, please note that both our boats on display and boat for sale counts are now ahead of last year's show, perhaps because it is our 25th Annual Show and the special events planned for this year.

I hope to see you there. Introduce yourself. I am a tall fellow with grey hair. It would be nice to meet all of my fellow donzi.net buddies.

Steve Uhthoff will be giving a Q and A seminar on fiberglass boats. He will cover stress cracks, final finish types and issues, structual repairs, and blisters. Steve brings an over 27 year background to this seminar. He does work in Epoxy, Polyester, Vinylester, and Carbon Fiber for both racers and folks that use their boats for pleasure. I hope to see you there on Saturday, June 16,2012 at 12:00 noon at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD. Other seminars start at 11:00 and go till 5 PM. I arranged for 6 seminars total.

These seminars are a part of the 17 acre Boat Show with pre-1975 fiberglass, wood, and metal "boats for sale" and "boats for show". The Show is a true Festival centered around what are called classic boats and it has more boats than last year already coming with more still signing up.

This is the 25th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Festival. Since it is the Silver Anniversary many extra items are apart of this year's Festival. It has model boat kits to color for youngsters. A Classic Boat Judging Experience for young adults that names their own winner of a separate Award, Judging and awards for those that want their boat judged, used boats and parts, a growing list of 66 plus Juried Artists, Artisans, and Authors coming from the USA and Canada. Much of these folks are in the "show within the show" called The Arts at Navy Point". Plus other events like seminars on boats and their engines.

It is considered the largest such festival in the mid-atlantic states.

I am still recovering from an illness and will come into the Show Sat. Morning and basically hang around what is called the steamboat building, #10, on the map that I will try to attach in this thread.

Look all the way to the left once you click on and see the bigger verison of the map and see the bathroom symbols and then the #10 next to them.

I need to lead the seminar program inside that steamboat building on Sat, so I will be there, mostly.

Are you coming to the Sunday Bar-B-Que that is the awards presentation?

My cell telephone is 518-281-0045. Call anytime and about anything I can help with.

Friday is a two hour local cruise afternoon for show goers, starting usually around 2-3 PM. Ask Ray, Chuck, or Dommic for details once you pull into the show.

If you want to ride in another boat, make friends with the boat owner and ask if he is going out on the cruise and then ask if you can join him. Each skipper controls who rides in his boat.

If you want to use your own boat and have room aboard, offer to give someone a ride.

Hard to get in trouble around the show, except for speeding in a no wake area. Keep it down real slow until you see others getting up on plane. There usually are some racers on the cruise mixed in with some runabouts and cruisers. Once all are out on the open river away from the harbor, each kind of speedboat does their own thing.
