An icon who produced arguably the hottest cars of his era.

Ya beat me by about 10 minutes.
I remember when he retired from racing because of a heart murmer and he eventually had a transplant.
I should live so long!

Yep. He was a real icon who most everyone admired - including myself -. He was instrumental in many designs. My wife gave me the news this afternoon. Bill

Very sad news but he definitely lived a full and productive life. His Cobras and the early Shelbys were fantastic cars. As a Corvette guy I think he made Chevrolet work harder to compete. He will be missed.

I used to watch the 289 Cobras race in B Production at Watkins Glen in the early to mid 60's What a thrill to see and hear them coming up the hill after the start finish line in a pack with the other B Production racers!

He was nice to me when I asked him to autograph a Shelby Mustang catalog for my son. I love his cars, except for the Chrysler thing.
