Fuel gauge

I've been trying to find a fix to this problem for a while not but I have had no luck. I hate how on my boat the fuel gauge reads full until the boat is just about empty and the gauge lever starts moving back and forth. Does anyone know a fix for this?

I have Livorsi gauges on my 2009 Donzi.

I just remember that when my gauge starts bouncing off full that I'm good for not much more than 20-30 miles. I really pushed my luck one time and ran at minimal speed to the dock with the gauge on empty and I made it. There couldn't have been more than 5 gallons in the tank.

Rocky S18 my advice is to get a sender from Tidbart, I got one his for my 22 and my gage works great very accurate readings.

My 22ZX has similar function - when it bounces off of full its time to consider the next fuel stop. In fact last time I saw you in the St. Clair River I was on a slow cruise looking for that gas pump. Not a bad system play until it starts to bounce then it time to get serious.

I remember once my radio antenna somehow grounded out my fuel gauge sender and the gauge read totally full all the time.....Wouldn't that be nice!

Fortunately I discovered it before I ran out of gas.

I never got a drawing of a 22zx tank, but my gut says it is a deeper tank and thus will not work with this sender. This sender is made for specific style tanks around 9.5" deep and are programmed accordingly. I did look at some other tanks to see how the gauge would react in them. If you look at the other thread in the Parts For Sale section, you can see some of the graphs.

Anyways, if you can get a drawing of your tank, I can take a look at it and see what would happen. Or, if you can get the drawing and several other 22zx owners who would commit to buy one, I can see about writing a program for it. One-offs are rather expensive as I did one for another member.

You can also get an un-customized one for less money. Won't be as accurate but will give you the benefits of a centroid sender over a float sender. Just would need to know the tank depth at the sender.
