What were the original dash fasteners used on early boats? The PO used oval selftappers with washers. Scarred up the thin ss insert. I would like to use the correct fastener if possible...

I don't know the exact name but the shoulder washer( the head of the screw countersinks past the high sides of the washer) and should also have a black plastic disc behind it so no metal touches the dash . you would have to size the correct screws and washers.

The screws are usually oval head countersunk set into finish washers pictured in the link below.
